You all know that I have a crazy schedule, but this month has so far been the busiest mamma month of 2012. You should see my diary, it’s looking like a dyslexic’s crossword puzzle complete with messy lines, circles, colour-coding and tick boxes.
September started with the extravagant Gala Opening of MSFW, I still miss the macaron buffet and the monumental sounds of the organ performance. Fashion Week became a full-time job for me as I dashed to 7am Breakfast Seminars and gave my thumbs a work out reporting via Twitter, went home, got changed, frolicked to luncheons, rubbed shoulders with models and designers, ate more than them all combined; then went home, got changed again to watch the runway shows whilst I tried to suck in my stomach and sit up straight. This went for 5 days, in between which I also attended a high tea, watched a fashion film at ACMI, lunched at the Flemginton Spring Racing Launch, worked at the vets as well as my extras job. Oh and every night, I came home, got changed, sat in bed, and blogged. Then translated…and finally, conked out.
It was a miracle I didn’t get sick after fashion week between my backless dresses and the ghastly Melbourne weather. I was even more swamped the week after MSFW. There was the Caulfield Spring Gala Launch, a casting, a photoshoot, the launch of NuffnangX, the Chadstone/Vogue Runway, the Emirates Marquee Menu Tasting complete with a crooning Brian McFadden, I presented an Accessories Trends report at The Paper Doll’s Spring Fashion Lunch, canoodled with beauty and fashion bloggers at the Veet EasyWax Launch at Miss Fox, and vetted.
After that, I did get sick. Lost my voice and my phone charger (these were 2 of the most miserable days of my life…as I watched my portable PA die right in my hands and my vocal chords strummed the notes of discord). But that didn’t stop me from feasting at David’s in Prahran or singing Seasons of Love for you Stevie Wonder style, I had the pleasure of styling a wedding-themed photoshoot for Domain Flowers, and even attended a dumpling-making dinner.
This month, I was also very chuffed to have 3 photoshoots I styled for featured in online magazines, Vatra, Fashionising and Fashion Journal, to show you my very first style video captured by the clever ladies of Meet Me On the Street, and now am the proud owner of a Mod-style bob thanks to The Laneway.
Meet Me On the Street
