I’ve been looking for an iPad case for eons. Was hoping that this vintage Escada clutch would fit my favourite gadget, but it is not accommodating enough; then a Chloe iPad clutch I had my eye on Net-a-Porter was sold out, I thought, this is the end!!! That is, until I received (finally, after waiting over 6 months) my Karla Spetic clutch! I’d ordered it after seeing it at Rosemount Fashion Week. The leather is so soft I think the juxtaposition of a hard electronic device inside it is just brilliant.
Not sure if you noticed, but my skirt is actually a top! :) Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Can you see where I disguised the spaghetti straps? This beautiful 2 toned Violet & I camisole is elasticised so I took advantage of the silken cami and pushed it down my waist (hmm this is sounding a little iffy) to serve me as a skirt with a peplum. Actually love it even more as a skirt. The elastic waist band allows me to pig out and the peplum adds ladylike charm.
Just had to show you the back of this Gasparre Cashmere top. The low back features a leather strip that keeps the sleeves in check. I can’t think of a more luxurious pairing of leather and cashmere, definitely a marriage in hedonistic heaven.
There’s nothing like great design.

Blame it on Leonardo DiCaprio. He first captivated all of us Juliette-wannabes with his dreamy looks in the modern Shakespeare adaption by Baz Lurhmann, then he confused us and confounded us with his vivid dreams in Inception. I’m not sure if Melbourne-based designer, Jolet (last seen here) was inspired by the Hollywood heartthrob’s films or not (should have asked her when I had coffee with her last week!) but her new SS11/12 collection is romantic enough for us to all feel like a beautiful Claire or Marion.
I have been itching to show you this tangerine Karla Spetic blouse with cut-outs for a while now. It was one of the only pieces my business partner left me when she left me which fit me, the rest of the boutique pieces are now available for adoption here.
These fork earrings are super handy for picnic days or if you rock up uninvited to a BBQ. I would love to meet the first person to ‘invent’ these and given them a pat on the back- what a quirky way to recycle something so practical!
You probably remember my favourite ivory tassel necklace in this post, but I wanted to also show you the compartments! A true vintage gem, as ancient Chinese used to store medicinal herbs (or so they say) in these! There’s a similar necklace on sale here!

Happy new year my lovelies! This is the final blog post of 2011. Man have I had a ball this year, and I couldn’t have done it without you! You have no idea how much your readership, comments and subscriptions mean to me. Before I post anything, I consider you- my reader, what things would tickle your fancy? So thank you for encouraging me this year. Here are some highlights from 2011 which you may recall, and below is a list of the first times this year I…(in chronological order)
Also, because you have been so good to me and my blog, I am hosting another give-away! This time- lippies! I can only imagine your pupils dilate and the sheer amazement on your face when you see these pieces, because they are pretty much the same feelings I had when I laid eyes on this amazing collection, designed by Cardona Bonache. This is their 3rd collection, or ‘lesson’, as Mr Cardona and Mr Bonache calls. These photos were taken at Paris Fashion Week last year in September, when I went to visit the Felder Felder twins. This show room housed some seriously hip designers, Alexander Wang was on the floor below. Each season, the Spanish duo creates a collection based on a couture tailoring technique. They define, explore, and translate the idea, the technique into real wearable garments. For their SS11 collection, ‘Bellows‘, the boys created symmetrical pleats and folds and developed stiff and shiny fabrics which retained the bellows even when worn. In couture, a ‘bellow’ is a side fold consisting of 2 parallel fabric folds used to increase depth, its function is to create volume and generate movement in garments. I was so tempted to order the entire collection but in the end I chose the shoes- in cream. And I’ve been waiting for my shoes to arrive so I could post this up. But to this day, I am still waiting for them…Perhaps they have been forgotten, folded away, somewhere…
