I can only imagine your pupils dilate and the sheer amazement on your face when you see these pieces, because they are pretty much the same feelings I had when I laid eyes on this amazing collection, designed by Cardona Bonache. This is their 3rd collection, or ‘lesson’, as Mr Cardona and Mr Bonache calls. These photos were taken at Paris Fashion Week last year in September, when I went to visit the Felder Felder twins. This show room housed some seriously hip designers, Alexander Wang was on the floor below. Each season, the Spanish duo creates a collection based on a couture tailoring technique. They define, explore, and translate the idea, the technique into real wearable garments. For their SS11 collection, ‘Bellows‘, the boys created symmetrical pleats and folds and developed stiff and shiny fabrics which retained the bellows even when worn. In couture, a ‘bellow’ is a side fold consisting of 2 parallel fabric folds used to increase depth, its function is to create volume and generate movement in garments. I was so tempted to order the entire collection but in the end I chose the shoes- in cream. And I’ve been waiting for my shoes to arrive so I could post this up. But to this day, I am still waiting for them…Perhaps they have been forgotten, folded away, somewhere…

A few days ago I attended the media launch of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week at the beautiful Grand Hyatt. You may recall the beautiful blooming styles of 2010 in this post. This year, bright and bold colours took centre stage, namely in the form of artisan-crafted dresses by some of my favourite designers such as Alexandra Blak (the to-die-for clear neon accessories), Dhini, NeoDia and YeoJin Bae. I nearly squealed in delight when I saw their pieces, as these designers are dear friends and I’d been blessed enough to see their collection 2 months ago in their show rooms.
Lord Mayor Robert Doyle announced Dannii Minogue to be the Ambassador of MSFW and model Sophie Van Den Akker as the Face. There will be 26 runways, 26 worshops, 18 exhibitions, 48 in-store/retail events, 22 films, 12 parties, 22 special events and more! So many events, so little time!
It’s going to be an uber glamorous fashion week. I’m most looking forward to the High Tea Party, fashion films at ACMI, the runway shows and of course, the dressing-up part! I’m a hot weather girl, so cannot wait for the sun to turn its warm face to us! And we’d better book early this year for all the fabulous events on at MSFW, as this year’s spring fashion week is set to be the big mama of all! Cannot. Wait

Felder Felder showed their collection at London Fashion Week. We were not able to go and watch as we had to mind the boutique, but we caught up with the twins in Paris. They are the sweetest girls and so down-to-earth, despite having achieved super-star status with their signature leather and studded collections.

The Felder twins usually design in black, which is one reason why their collection is so well-received here in Melbourne. But since Annette’s wedding last year, colour has started to emerge from their collections! Love is the catalyst we presume!

When you have good looks- the face and the figure, you are truly blessed. To be able to wear clothes is different to just wearing clothes. It was said that Nicole Kidman ‘wears the clothees’ but the clothes ‘do not wear her’. It would be the said the same about our gorgeous model Vicki.
In a leather and silk Sophia Kokosalaki dress, featured on her runway show earlier in the year. Below is the photo we took of the stunning gown in her showroom in Paris. Trust Sophia to create the most enchanting goddess dresses. A work of art, it is too stunning for mortal words.
