As I mentioned in the previous post, the wedding we attended over the weekend was certainly one to remember. Not only was it beautiful and spectacular (check out the bride in her breathtaking lace splendour, see below the bridesmaids in their gorgeous floral peplums, the majestic chapel and the regal reception hall), it was an utter joy to witness two people, brought together by their love for each other and their common love for God, be able to give testament to their love and faith in such a powerful and moving way. Oh and they both said their vows in English AND Chinese!
Do you know why I started to include a Mandarin translation in my blog posts? It was because of this couple. They’d asked me to be their service translator a few months back. I panicked because going from English into Chinese is very tough for me. But I felt so honoured I decided to do my best, brushing up on Mandarin by practising it on my blog. The beautiful girl standing next to me also reads this blog is a blogger herself, check it out here. Isn’t her Zara dress incredible?
What followed at the reception were heartfelt speeches, I was moved from laughter to tears, and to laughter again… The couple have amazing parents and friends who adore them. And I know that their lives together will continue to enrich the ones around them and beyond. And what better way to end a lobster dinner than with some swinging and dancing?

This wedding is so personally inspirational! I’m not engaged or anything, but I have a feeling that I will have a half asian, half white wedding. The bride’s choice of dress (then dress for the reception) is perfect. She is so beautiful and that picture of the bride and groom dancing means they’ll have a ton of fun, for sure.
aww I’m so happy to hear that Aki that you enjoyed the wedding post- it meant a lot to us that very special day on so many levels. The bride is a stunning and so beautiful (inside and out), her amazing figure really did the cheongsams justice!
What a gorgeous couple! That is so sweet that they both said their vows in 2 languages! :)

They are both so talented, and so devoted- I’ve never attended a wedding where the couple spoke 2 launguages!!
Wow, I’m quite overwhelmed with all the lovely things said about our wedding here… CC thank you for your support of Geng and I. It was a wonderful day, and CC, you were a key part of making it special. Without your translation in the church, many Chinese guests would have been in the dark! You should definitely persevere with translating your blog, it will be so rewarding for you.
Thank you for all those comments! xxx
