Soon Maternity Celina Dress / Vintage Cardigan & Shades / Natalia Brilli Necklace / Tom Gunn shoes
Since I found out I was pregnant 6 months ago, I secretly vowed that I will endeavour not to resort to maternity clothes. Wishful thinking served itself well until the 3rd trimester, where my belly decided that it should be a show-off. Following fashion trends has been virtually impossible and when I look longingly at most pieces in my wardrobe, I can only utter the words “et tu, Brute?”
I used to shudder at the word ‘maternity’. But one pregnancy label has proved me wrong: Soon Maternity. You may recall my beaming smile in this raspberry dress some time before our babymoon at the Malvern boutique. The pieces are designed with both style and comfort in mind. Think figure-enhancing fabrics, fun and colourful prints, in flattering and versatile shades, that embrace the right curves and dress up the baby bump. I was smitten. I brought my Soon Maternity dresses to New York as they didn’t compromise style for shape and could easily be dressed up and down. Now back in Melbourne, I still find myself gravitating towards them each day. Here is one of my favourite dresses that can be worn during the day and for work.
Soon Maternity Celina Dress / Chloe Jacket / Christian Dior Bag / Scooter Heels

This Soon Maternity dress even got Heidi Middleton’s (Sass & Bibe designer) tick of approval. When I bumped into her on the way to Bergdorf Goodman in New York, she said that I looked “really beautiful.” Now I can give birth happy.

Cheers thank you Lamia! xx
At 13 weeks into my pregnancy I’d be wise to invest the $500 Soon spree on some gorgeous, quality basics such as the Summer Cardi, Asymmetrical Jersey Skirt and Moss Scoop Maternity Tank. To get me through Summer and the holiday season I’d choose some stylish, fun pieces like the Sienna Maxi Tank Jersey Dress, Miso maternity dress and of course who could go past Cecylia’s stunning choice, the Celina dress in red! What fun!
Don’t worry I was deluded too. Next time I’m jumping into my maternity jeans and dresses sooner
p.s. joined the newsletter & I’d spend the dosh on the Kara Maternity Maxi Dress, Celina Long Sleeve Maternity Dress & maybe the Whitney Drape cardi. Love that red number on you too!

You look beautiful! At 21 weeks I’ve just admitted defeat and started to buy some maternity clothes. If I won the $500 I would buy some dresses like the gorgeous raspberry one in the photo, great for work and play, and comfy for the heat of Jan and Feb, right when I’ll be at my biggest!
You look beautiful! At 21 weeks I’ve finally admitted defeat and bought some maternity clothes. If I won the voucher, I would buy some dresses, like the georgeous raspberry one you’re wearing above. They would be great for both work and play, and be comfortable in the heat of January and February when I’ll be at my biggest!
Sorry for the double post – technical issues!
That picture with the blue and red and your gorgeous belly caught my attention!
Being pregnant for the very first time is certainly daunting, if I could eliminate having to worry about what I can wear day in day out at work without comprimising comfort with fashion would be like unclasping your bra at the end of a long day!
If I win, I would love to try out that red celina dress you have on Cecil, plus others like Madeline long sleeve wrap, Kara maternity dress, Whitney drape cardi and the sienna maxi tank dress!
It’s such a blessing to go through this milestone with dearest friends like you! Xx
Great blog post. You look amazing!
If I had $500 Soon dollars, I would buy the Jess Gathered Maxi Dress in green hatch for social gatherings, the Harper Maxi dress because it looks ridiculously comfortable and wearable for the full 9 months!, the divine Hannah lace feeding dress in black because every girl needs a pretty LBD even when pregnant or breast feeding, and I’d take advantage of the sale jeans and get some comfy boyfriend jeans for every day wear and some straight leg jeans in black to double as the essential black pant. Money well spent, I’d say.
Good luck for your final trimester! xx
I know what you mean, a good maternity LBD can really make or break your look! Thank you Claire! Best wishes for the competition!
Thanks Cecylia! Wish I could pull off your red dress but I have red hair. You have the prefect colouring for it though. Meanwhile everyone can rock black. :D Xx
the red dress comes in grey and black too! You’ll love it!
You look fantastic! I used to love similar dresses during both my pregnancies, I think they are much more flattering than a wide top, then you end up looking like you’d wear a tent… xxx from Switzerland
lol that’s right, muumuus are not very chic are they? :)
I love soon maternity too!
I’m still in the first trimester of my second pregnancy and seem to be popping much earlier with this one so I could definitely do with a $500 soon-cash injection in the near future!
I also love the celibate dress in red and the beautiful raspberry striped sienna maxi. I’d also invest in some of the jersey swing tanks and cotton shorts, they look stylish and comfortable for chasing a toddler around in this summer!
By the way, you look beautiful! Pregnancy certainly agrees with you!
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope it’s been treating you well! Thank you for your kind words, we wish the best of luck for the comp!!!
I loooove Soon Maternity! The fit is awesome. I admit I already have numerous pieces. If I won the $500 voucher though, I could update my collection and it would be great for my next pregnancy (currently doing IVF). I’d buy heaps of long sleeved tees and a cardi and some jeans or leggings.
Aww, thank you for sharing about your pregnancy- wishing you the very best for your next bub :)
Soon Maternity is fab! I found their dresses perfect for breast feeding too. I would love a $500 voucher!!! It would make a perfect gift for my bestie who is currently pregnant. A shopping spree to buy clothes that will make her feel good about herself – I can’t think of a better gift to give her! Loving your style Cecylia xoxo
Thank you for sharing with us Jodi. You are such a great friend! Best wishes for your friend’s pregnancy- hope it all goes well!
Oooooooooooo 6 months in and suddenly I am desperate for the Celina tank maternity dress in every colour (I bought the black and it is amazing but I can’t wear it every day!!!!), the Kara maternity dress, the Miso dress and the Emma feeding dress in grey. I have the swing tank in white but definitely need it in grey and black and the summer cardi. Need I go on??? And like you, I said I would definitely not be buying any maternity clothes but now all the nice very fashionable and stretchy dresses I thought would get me through just look wrong. They don’t accommodate my new boobs and bum properly. Yay Soon!!!
Shannon you have picked some of my favourite pieces too! So glad to hear that you’re also so style-conscious during your pregnancy :) best wishes for the competition!!!
I would love to spend $500 on Soon Maternity clothing! I’m not pregnant at the moment, but I bought some clothes from Soon Maternity when I was pregnant last year and they are good quality and great design. I think you can still wear them after pregnancy, so I’m in for the $500 voucher!
Thanks
Definitely! That’s the beauty of Soon Maternity- you can wear the pieces even when you’re not pregnant and look chic!
OOH! wouldn’t it be fab if $500 would buy you one of everything?! haha. I would buy a miso maternity dress in the gorgeous ruby colour way, a destiny dress in black, an emma feeding dress in grey marle and a harper maxi dress in black/pink..oh my goodness, so many gorgeous items!
Ah you have exquisite taste Bree! Great choices!
I’m 5 months pregnant with my second and with my first I bought some Soon Maternity clothings which I love. With $500 voucher I would be able to get even more great clothings. Especially now Cecylia has shown how we can mix and match with non-maternity clothings. Would love to get the dresses that Cecylia has like the Celina and Lea dress as well as Emma feeding dress, Zarah zip top and some denim.
Thanks for sharing youn pregnancy fasion! Enjoy ur pregnancy!
Congratulations Lily! Thank you for your kind words, I’m glad to know that you enjoy mixing the maternity and non-maternity pieces!
A new year looms, and a new challenge begins. My partner and love of my life are planning a secret weeding in March – and we are hoping to surprise our families even more with a baby-on-board. Please let this first time mum (at 36) look smashing, everyday and in everyway….
aww congratulations Rosalie! On both your wedding and the pregnancy! You only have a few weeks to go! Best wishes for the delivery and the competition!
I absolutely looovvve your range!!! I heard about soon maternity from a friend at work and visited your Malvern store within first week of it opening, I was lucky enough to meet you Cecylia and you gave me all these beautiful pieces to try on. I was only in the early stages of my pregnancy so it was a little daunting shopping but you made me feel so comfortable and on the day I purchased the celina 3/4 royal blue and it’s my go-to in my wardrobe, every time I wear it I get compliments and it makes me feel like a-million-dollars! We have been watching our pennies (this is our first pregnancy) and are soon moving to Adelaide but as a reward of achieving the 6 month mark of our pregnancy, I purchased the grey ruched skirt and white basic tee which is another beautiful outfit, so the feeling of being short and round (wearing flats and growing more and more), is a great feeling with my 2 soon maternity outfits. I have looked at other stores and nothing compares to the simple, graceful style of soon maternity and the price tags mean it’s not out of our reach, I would love the opportunity to spend $500 at your Malvern store, I would look and feel glamorous everyday with some more outfits, I would buy the Celina tank (in sapphire), audrey capri pants, hoolihan cargo pants, classic draper bazer and some more tees in colours colours colours with summary arriving!…and post pregnancy, wow haven’t even thought about that range! Your ranges is timeless…I am so glad I was recommended to your store.
Hi Beck, thank you so much for your beautiful story and for sharing with us your news- congratulations on reaching the 6 months mark! We are so thrilled to hear that you love Soon Maternity. Indeed they have such a great range for moms-to-be and moms! I actually don’t work at Soon Maternity so it’s more likely you were served by another lady, but it’s ok, we all love the pieces there! Wishing you the very best for this competition! No doubt if you win, you will put the voucher to VERY good use!
I was first introduced to Soon Maternity when pregnant with my first child and have been a lover of their designs and comfort ever since. With amazing quality and style I am still mixing in some of my original Soon pieces. With number three on the way I would love to update my dress collection and add the comfortable capris to help me breeze through summer. Thank you for sharing Soons range and the opportunity to win a $500 shopping spree!!!
that’s wonderful to hear that you’ve been a fan for so long! So great that you’re still wearing the capris- they are so chic and comfy!

I am 27 weeks pregnant and need a gorgeous dress for Melbourne Spring racing carnival and a wedding in November! I am struggling to find something that is flattering for my growing bump and at the same time doesn’t make me feel like a huge blimp :)
Ooh you’ll be right at home at Soon Maternity then!! They have such flattering pieces for special occasions too! Chic and stylish!
Love your blogs Cecylia! You’ve inspired me to be more chic and experimental with everyday wear and maternity wear. Still early stage in my second pregnancy, I would love to add some nice summer dresses to my maternity collection. Also some functional pieces to wear to chase after my toddler and BSF children during the warmer days. ;)
Definitely Jean you’ll look stunning in the Soon Maternity pieces! I love that they are indeed so comfortable to wear around little ones :) xxx
Amazing! Now I’ll have to add the Celina dress to my Soon wish list! Before seeing you in this little number other items on my Soon Maternity list (come on $500 voucher) included the Kara & Harper Maxi dresses, the Summer cardigan, an Angel front top and the Emma feeding dress… pretty much the entire stock! I love Soon as it allows me to feel comfortable and confident at work, social events, and even when chasing after my 2 year old toddler! It disguises all of my not so favourite parts of pregnancy, while emphasising the best parts! A total winner in my books.
aww thanks Kirsty for your lovely comment, you’ve picked such gorgeous pieces, I love those maxis too! Please feel free to share your advice on raising your 2 year old toddler :)
