Last night David’s Restaurant in Prahran was relaunched. Having entertained guests with prized and traditional cuisine from Shanghai (authentic to the core, as I, a Shanghai born and bred girl, can testify) for over 15 years (that’s dinosaur years in the restaurant biz), David’s was recently refurbished. Coated in modern white, exuding that welcoming Melbournian buzz, the restaurant shed its previous old Shanghai feel and embraced a hip and contemporary new look. What remained the same is the vast array of fresh, choice dumplings and their exquisite flavours. You will notice that there are hardly any pictures of food, needless to say it was because we were too busy eating and tasting to take photos of the delightful morsels. However I did take note of my favourite dish of the night, a sweet one of course, white chocolate dumplings. I think I met my new favourite dessert!
[spoiler title=”中文版”] 昨晚我去了David’s餐厅的新装修开幕典礼。其实餐馆已经开了15 年了，在餐饮行业这是非常悠久的历史。这么多年来，David’s餐厅一直用美味佳肴的饺子和原汁原味的上海菜招待顾客。昨晚也一样，周先生慷慨地接待每一位嘉宾。鸡，猪，羊，牛，虾肉的饺子鲜美多汁，令人食不停口。（我忙着吃，都忘记给你们拍照了！）新装修的餐厅，干净白色的墙，使它变得更摩登，更受人欢迎。虽然我没有拍下食物的照，但我为最喜欢的一道甜点做了一个留念：白巧克力园子！作为一位上海人，David’s餐厅使我为我们的传统自豪。[/spoiler]
