What do you think of this cute bag? I recently discovered a quirky and contemporary bag label, Veira. The Singapore-based designer used to be an engineer! Another kindred spirit! Don’t you adore the trompe l’oeil detailing of the KissLock Bag and the huge brass clasp? It’s so roomy I can fit all my essentials but still wear it as a clutch. And if you’re interested, it’s available on ASOS!

Recently I was also introduced to a Melbourne-based eco-friendly basics label Sosume, created by Alex Trimmer. When asked about the origin of the label’s name, Alex said ‘Well it literally means “so sue me” which was my first reaction to having my original name taken by some Canadian clothing line.’ Don’t you just love a witty designer? What impressed me the most, aside from the fact that the pieces are high both on the style and sustainability stakes, is that they are Melbourne made! The material, micro modal, is made naturally, is biodegradable, lightweight, breathable, holds shape better than cotton and feels like silk on your skin.

Outfit: Alex Monroe earrings, Sosume V neck Tee (on sale!), Dimacci cuff, Veira bag, Spijkers en Spijkers wool pants, vintage scarf, sunnies, cardigan, belt and shoes
For the observant readers you may notice that in one of these pictures I’m wearing this funky cardigan upside down! I do this with all of my slouchy cardis. When worn upside down, the traditional look is transformed into a knitted cape (with sleeves). Can you see which photo I’m referring to?
