Last week I flew up to Sydney for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. And man, what a week. It was even more enjoyable than Paris Fashion Week in some respects. For example, I can actually speak English to every one, I could meet up with friends and cousins who knew where to take me to eat, without the need of tour guide books, the weather was glorious and the VIP bar rocked (more on that on a later post methinks) and I met SO MANY amazing bloggers and caught up with so many of my favourite Aussie designers. But before I spill all the beans, I will take you on a chronological guide. I promise you, my account of fashion week will not be like anything you’ve seen or heard from other great blogs or magazines. So, let’s rewind, to the day before fashion week kicked off…
A little Melbourne chick feeling de ja vu on Pitt Street, ‘Am I on Bourke St? Where’s the tram?’
She was super excited to take her Chloe jacket for a spin in Sydney. Who knew that the enormous Pauric Sweeney bag also doubles as a giant clutch!
‘It’s 10 am and there’s already a crowd outside ZARA? I will suppress all urge to visit that store!’ She says defiantly.
‘I look so tired after a 7 am flight, where’s good coffee around here?’ She asks, also grimacing at the fact that her giant pimple ‘Oscar’ also decided to tag along to Sydney.
She found a cupcake store and ordered the one with 3 heads.
The rest of the day became a delirious blur of seeing amazing things at the Rocks Market and eating lots of asian food for this girl. She fell desperately in love with hand-knitted children’s hats. She was the only adult trying on all the animal hats and giggling like there was no audience. ‘I will make it fit!’ She vowed. The sugar and caffeine was in full swing. She really wanted the grey one in the right hand corner but only this olive one fitted her head. So Rowena, founder of Nellie and Norm, obligingly helped Mr Kangaroo to fit onto her head. Rowena named her children’s label after her milliner grandma Nellie, as Nellie used to create gorgeous and bright head pieces.

After cupcake breakfast, came lunch with the cousins at Chat Thai. It was Epic. This little piggy had to loosen her belt.
After Thai lunch, was Taiwanese after noon tea – taro balls, beans on sugared ice at Meet Fresh. Because her taste buds being a little burnt from the previous chilli lunch, this Asian dessert was refreshingly delicious. After this, it was hubby’s birthday cake. A tiramisu from 85 Degrees rendered everyone paralyzed from severe post-prandial bulge.
But it seemed that everyone’s stomach is rather elastic. Some still had an appetite for dinner. More chilli food.
This girl is often mistaken for a child because of her actions. Imitation is the best form of flattery, right?
After what seemed to be 5 meals, she found a little corner of her stomach to have another dinner with some vet friends at Mamak. And that was how she started Rosemount Fashion Week- with lots of food.
But how will she fit into her clothes tomorrow?!!!!
What she wore
Chloe jacket/vintage blouse/Baron Y leather heart necklace/Wrangler jeans/Pauric Sweeney bag/Repetto BB flats
What she ate
Wayyy too much

[…] Before I had a chance to get my delegate badge, a spunky dude from Famous magazine wanted a picture. Of my bag. But surprisingly a friend from Facebook told me that she saw me as part of the street-style page. Yes, this week’s Famous magazine. I look really bloated in the photo…naturally after having 6 meals the day before… […]
