During New York fashion week, we were fortunate to see an incredibly artistic and unique collection by Russian-born, Italy-based designer Katya Leonovich. The multiple-award-winning Leonovich lends an artistic flair to all of her pieces, paying meticulous attention to both the front and back of her garments, as evident in these photos. We sat second row, hence why they are more diagonal than front-on. The first models, draped in silk chiffon, wearing prints based on Leonovich’s own paintings, sauntered down the runway to the romantic tune from “Coco Avant Chanel”. Relaxed, asymmetric silhouettes were complimented by loosely secured back-swept buns and long, dendritic fringes. Definitely a hairstyle I’m eager to try when my tresses grow longer. The show stopping piece was this high collared purple leather dress with eyelets and laces and a pink number which I tried to capture on my phone. In three words, the collection was edgy, relaxed and sculptural.
