There is never a dull moment when I’m with Karen, a most fabulous fashion photographer, and this quirky shoot was no exception. Since meeting her 4 years ago at my boutique, we bonded like 2 peas in a pod and she became like the sister I never had. My constant source of inspiration through her faith, creativity, sense of humour and motherhood example, I’m honoured to have had another opportunity to collaborate with her. This time, we stepped foot into a place I’ve never visited before – a coin laundry. Who knew that Smeg-like washing machines would make such cute props?

Call me weird but I actually love doing the laundry. It’s because, when I was growing up in Shanghai, there was an ad on the radio that had a slogan that went something like “It works whilst you rest”. For the industrious citizens, having a ‘rest’ was an utmost luxury. So since I was little, the washing machine became like man’s (or should I say woman’s) best friend, even more so than the fridge or the TV. I never understood why my college friends saw doing the laundry as a chore. A robotic whitegood is doing all the work! We are merely feeding it, it’s quite a symbiotic relationship really… Also, I still remember the utmost amazement when I operated a dishwasher for the first time. Who needs a “Man of Steel” when you’ve got a steaming stainless steel machine that cleans your dishes?
A few little random thoughts, but it kind of goes along the lines of how appreciative we should be to have so many first world privileges… Wishing you a gorgeous week ahead lovelies! xx

你可能觉得有点奇怪,但我很喜欢洗衣服。 有可能是因为我小时候在上海长大的。记得在广播电台上有个洗衣机的广告说“它工作，您休息”。对卖力的中国人们来说，能够休息是极端的的享受。 因此洗衣机就好像人类的好朋友，我认为它比电视和冰箱还有用。我上大学住学的时候， 不能理解为什么很多朋友们不喜欢洗衣服，决得是个苦差事，但他们又不是用手洗。一个机器在帮你服务！我们只不过“喂”给它吃罢了。是一种共生关系。我还记得我第一次使用洗碗机。那更妙了！
只是几个随便的思路，但使我们为生活在二十一世纪而感恩![/spoiler]

LOL I’m actually doing laundry right this moment. Laundry day is my favorite day of the week. The dishwasher is also my favorite appliance. These are just a few reasons why I love living in the 21st century (^_^)
