Hello hello! You’ll be glad to know that I’m back in summer mode today. In this post where I wore yellow and pink a dear reader suggested that I should team pink and orange together. She must know that I adore challenges. Especially if they are the video game or fashion types. The key to mix colours harmoniously is to combine them in the same saturation. Colours in the same tonal family blend together more naturally. That’s not to say that you can’t mix brights and pastels together, you just need to work a little harder as a matchmaker.

This vintage bag is one of my most treasured possessions. A structured Doctor’s bag, the clasps are pure genius and so far I’ve only seen Fendi re-invent these vintage fasteners. It’s roomy enough to transport our big mamma SLR and fit a pair of flatties for emergency situations.
Another favourite I’m sporting here are these Vionnet satin beauties (last seen here). They are ON SALE now! I bought them for my birthday last year to satisfy my shoe addiction. Classically black and white, they add elegance to every outfit and I mean, EVERY outfit. Talking of shoes, the lucky winner of the Shoesales.com.au Give-away goes to Amanda! Your shoes are flying to you as we speak.

To add a tad of tomboy edginess to this otherwise very girly and ruffly ensemble, I supplemented the outfit with harsh lined shades, cowgirl ‘necklace’ and the gigantic Dynamite MAWI ring. Voila. Candy floss transformed into Sherbet Bomb.
Happy Australia Day for tomorrow! What are you all up to? Or should I ask, what are you wearing? Can you believe that
Outnet has an
Australia Day sale? I’m attending a friend’s wedding and then catching up with another one who’s getting married on Saturday. Cannot wait!
Where: En route to watch movies
Wear: Vintage everything, Mawi ring, Vionnet heels, Serge Lutens Sa Majestic Rose fragrance

Happy New Year everyone! Does everyone have any new year resolutions? I know we all want to be skinnier and prettier and have more shoes. Did I guess right? So I decided to start the year with an Asian tradition – red for prosperity. Red accessories transform an outfit from being good to great. Whether it is a scarlet bag, shoes or even jewelery, these accessories will become your necessities in 2010.

Alexander McQueen satin knuckle clutch- oozing with rock’n'roll glamour. Having this bag is like wearing jewelry! It wound be an impressive self-defensive weapon and you wouldn’t lose it. I like the pearly eyes of the skull.

Sam Deman red fringed suede boots- very Pocahontas-like! You may think that this is just another ‘suede boot’, but look closer: there is a cascading fringe and fringing at the heel of the boot! This boot takes luxe-boho to the next level.

Lanvin multi-strand lacquered necklace: Alber Elbaz never makes anything that I don’t love. I adore his lady-like approach to designing. He reworks the traditional classic looks with an interesting twist. Take this 3-tiered necklace -it looks like a modern heirloom! You will wow the crowd with this beauty.

Escada patent calfskin bag- a great carry-all for all ages. I like the detachable shoulder strap and the gold buckle lock. It works the functionality and Anti-It-Bag status very well. I can see Alexa Chung carrying one of these.

Valentino couture patent leather pumps. WOW! These peeptoes are the most demure and glamorous ones I’ve seen in a long time. Long live the red king. A pair of red shoes or a red dress from Valentino is a must-have as he is the man who revolutionized the LRD- the long red dress.

3.1 Phillip Lim red leather purse – edgy and practical. This is the perfect companion in a tote or just clutch it. It is large enough to fit your passport and other important luggage, so bring it with you when you fly.
Happy New Year everyone! Start the year with red!

I saw some gorgeous sparkly dresses on Net-A-Porter and I thought I should share with you- for all of you fashionistas who like to party, here are some beautiful pieces to inspire and indulge your senses in.
Rachel Gilbert Paige bow sequin dress. What a beauty! I love the 2 shoulder bows and the sweetheart neckline with the tank-top look. Don’t be afraid to wear it during the day to a cocktail party, you can shimmer your way through the drinks to the admiration of every pair of eyes in the room.

Sass & Bide Going it Alone dress. Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clark never make mistakes. Every garment they make is strong and sexy. This strapless frock is flattering- it molds to your torso, cinches your waist with a pin-stripe bow and flares out around your hips with just the right amount of sparkles. Another high-recommended dress!

Sonia Rykiel sequin embellished dress- definitely on my lust-have list. This is a classic, nude is flattering on any skin tone. The origami bow nipped at the waist is very dramatic. The sequins used here are the small metallic ones, so the dress is probably not light, no need to go to the gym then.

YSL sequin strapless jumpsuit. This is rather reminiscent of Giorgio Armani’s tailoring. I love the velvet bow around the waist. I am a big fan of bows and jumpsuits. Plus this is a harem-style jumpsuit, tres chic!

Rachel Gilbert again- her Lindsay sequined satin dress. Cute neckline- very frivolous, love the diamond detailing. This dress would be cute to wear during the day with black footless tights. Gotta make the most of the sparkles!

“One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs,or the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls.”
— Khaled Hosseini (A Thousand Splendid Suns)
Girls, shimmer on!

My latest fashion adoration is bows. Most of my headbands and shoes have bows. I like to tie bows around my waist when wearing dresses. We all wrap gifts with bows. Call me feminine, but bows are so sweet and pretty. Below is a selection of gorgeous pieces with bows- all tied at different places. And for those of you whose favorite color is green: enjoy!

From top to bottom: Chloe satin green bow belt, Rachel Gilbert bow wool minidress, Ruffian silk twill blouse, Chloe silk draped skirt, Valentino wool-blend dress, Thread social bow sweatshirt and Valentino satin bow front clutch.
I am inspired to wear bows everyday. Just limit it to one garment/accessory to not look like Minnie Mouse.
