A lot of people don’t understand why someone would give up their professional career for fashion. I explained the reason for my transition from veterinary science to fashion in an interview with Fashion Rebel, you can see it here. I’ve always said that ‘life is too short to not follow your passion.’ So here I am. I know my transition is not a smooth one and without the help of divine intervention, it would not have happened at all.

Because I look young I don’t like to tell customers that I’m the part-owner of our boutique. They look at me in a very strange light and demand to know my qualifications…most of them look down on me because they are amazed by the opulence of the store and the amazing designer pieces we stock. They even look at me funny when they see my wedding ring…

Ever since I was young, I was taught this valuable verse from the Bible in 1st Timothy Chapter 4 verse 12: ”Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

This verse has been the driving force behind my enthusiasm and energy. I’m far from good but thanks to God, He has placed so many amazing people in my life who continuously inspire, invigorate and influence me. It’s been a year since I started planning the boutique and it’s a miracle that it has even happened.

I can’t believe that I’ve met so many people that I admire in the fashion industry in the past year- Yasmin Sewell, Alice McCall, Lisa Gorman,  Sophia Kokosalaki, Pauric Sweeney, Anna Plunkett, Yeojin Bae, Sara Phillips, Christianna Heideman, Christine Barro, Connel Chiang, Amber Renae,  and more amazing designers, talented stylists and photographers that I’ve been blessed to work with.

I must say that running a boutique is the most stressful and also the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life.
