Cecylia, queen of the dessert

I know this is a fashion blog, but desserts are also the love of my life. For sweet-tooth devotees, here are some of the sweetest things I feasted on whilst in Paris. This boulangerie was very close to our hotel and contained plenty of goodies.

I bought a lemon tart which was just heavenly, a chocolate cake called ‘Opera’,

and a dozen macaroons.

These desserts were consumed at Le Procope, Paris’ oldest and running restaurant around the corner from our hotel in St. Germain.

Icecream with a twist- namely nuts and spiced fruits.

A rather huge creme Brulee.

Pear and ricotta thing with syrup. It was sickly sweet but I managed to polish off the plate.

Apple pie with a dollop of Honey crumble ice cream garnished with a mint leaf and a short bread bikkie, from Ambassade d’Auvergne.

I had these dessert on the first day in Paris at L’Ardoise. Lovely mousses.

My Paris guide book had told me that desserts are not this restaurant’s strong point. Perhaps they have read the review too and have since elevated their sweet standards. The chocolate praline cake was perfect to top off my 3 course meal.
