We all know the importance of zips- they help our skirts, pants to stay up and our dresses, boots, jackets to be firmly secured to our bodies. But recently, clever designers have elevated the humble zipper’s status to international glamour! How fly!
Here is the Prada grey and white zipper clutch. Trust Miuccia Prada to think outside the square, yet again. It’s very eye-catching but probably not very comfortable. I would not recommend that you place it under your arm whilst wearing a silk gown and matching it up with a tired zipper dress may be a little over the top.
I absolutely adore this zipper flower brooch- the colour, the idea. Unfortunaly I do not know who the genius creator of it is. I am definitely adding this to my DIY project. A zipper brooch looks so funky on the lapelle of any boyfriend blazer or long knited cardigan. Just need to find a long zip and sew or super-glue the folded portions together. If I made 2, I could even turn them into earrings! Or I could make it into the pendant of a necklace…the possibilities are endless!
I saw this D&G techni-coloured multi-zipper patent leather bag in a boutique in Bern, Switzerland last year. It is very sweet. Out of the 7 zippers, only 3 are real. You can see two of them on this image, the other one is the central zipper ( between magenta and purple). I am a big fan of multi-compartmentalised bags because I can then organise my belongings into different categories. With the sheer size of this bag, the compartments are quite roomy and you could even colour-code the pockets!
I love the D&G techni coloured bag! I might try and make one of those flower zips too!
