For the next fortnight, this stylish blue Renault Clio will be my ride. It’s a bit of an overachiever: sassy, smart and safe. Being a Francophile, it’s no wonder I’ve quickly fallen for the Clio’s charms. Sleek curves and glossy coat aside, it boasts a range of neat automotive functions that I never thought would improve my quality of life so much…
Keyless entry, ergonomic car seats…the car starts with just the push of a button and the breaks! There’s even a nifty slot for the Renault Smart Card Key.
The interior is lovely and spacious. I was impressed by the sizable multimedia touchscreen, complete with temperature control and easy radio station selection. There’s even a USB charger for my phone and camera making replenishing battery life on the go a piece of cake!
What really impressed me are Clio’s automatic lights and wipers. It ‘know’s when it’s raining and it even ‘knows’ what time of the day it is. Well, sort of… For example, when I drove it under a tunnel, front beams came on automatically to help me see. And when rain drizzled on the dashboard, the wind wipers started to wave enthusiastically all on their own accord. I didn’t need to touch a thing! That’s pretty decent artificial intelligence, and/or really well built-in sensors.
The instantly recognisable diamond shaped Renault logo doubles as a mirror!
The Clio may be small but it’s mighty. The 5 door hatch has a seriously spacious boot to boot :) Perfect for picnic essentials and roomy enough to pack for a weekend getaway!
Safety is always a key selection criteria for cars. I could rest assured test driving the Clio thanks to its superior safety ratings. And with low carbon dioxide emissions, it’s even good for the environment!
Oh, and one last thing, the Clio is seriously frugal with fuel. Our car guzzles up petrol like a cat who hasn’t been fed for days, but the Clio has Stop&Start fuel efficient technology so one tank lasts the distance. By the time this post is published, I would have been driving the car for a whole week but the petrol gauge has barely moved! More cruising, less filling. That’s music to my ears.
Why don’t you give the Clio Renault a test drive too? There’s nothing quite like the feeling of love at first drive…
