You know what? I can’t believe that I forgot to wish you all a very happy Chinese New Year in my last post. It’s a bit poor, I know, seeing that I’m Chinese and all. But I do have a good excuse. While you were cracking lobster shells with your bare hands and collecting Red Packets with glee, I had my hands full with a suitcase, a pram and a guitar. As you would have seen on Instagram, hubby, Winston and I checked into the Park Hyatt Melbourne over the weekend for a relaxing getaway to celebrate the start of parenthood, early Valentine’s Day and of course, Chinese New Year.
The Park Hyatt Melbourne has a very special place in my heart. When I first attended a fashion high tea there last year in February, I was actually a few weeks pregnant, although I was not aware yet. Later in October, before Winston was born, I was invited to a brunch at the hotel’s first-class restaurant, Radii, to sample their revamped healthier menu and to discover all the new personal touches they have added to better their customers’ experience. You may recall the delicious dishes in this post.
Although the Park Hyatt Melbourne is an opulent and luxurious hotel, it is also very family friendly. Did you know that it’s affiliated with St Vincent Private’s Maternity Unit? I have friends who stayed there after their bubs were born. Since discovering first hand the superior facilities, services and the guilt-free food the hotel offered last year, I couldn’t wait to bring my boys along. Where better than the Park Hyatt Melbourne for our very first family escape?
That’s why I was thrilled when the Park Hyatt invited me to come and stay in one of their beautiful rooms, the Club Deluxe Room, (it’s the one up there in the centre with the bay windows and balcony), sample their sumptuous food and, of course, gallivant through their luxurious surrounds taking photos all the way.
Upon our arrival, a friendly porter, a hand-written note, egg tarts (how did they know these are my favourites?!), a portable baby cot and a clothes steamer awaited us.
So if you would like to see all the splendour of the Park Hyatt Melbourne, I will be revealing what I got up to on our weekend stay in the coming weeks. Sorry to be a tease! But if you want to see it for yourself, you better book yourself in at the Park Hyatt Melbourne with your special someone.
For Valentine’s Day, the hotel is offering a special Celebration Package. Why not arrive in style with a bottle of chilled French Champagne and decadent handmade chocolates and enjoy breakfast-in-bed the next day in your luxurious room? You can take your time with breakfast as they even offer a 2pm late checkout and valet parking.
So, a very joyous belated Year of the Horse, and stay tuned to Cecylia.com for all the stylish shenanigans!
