Have you ever gotten something for your man but then only to claim it immediately as your own once you’ve discovered how amazing it is? Recently it happened to me. These WOOED glasses (yes they are sustainable shades made from wood!) are so light and innovative I have taken ownership over them from day one. Handmade and “designed by nature”, this Californian label encourages its customers to “reconnect with nature”. I thought that the tranquil lake was a good place to start :)

As you can tell, I decided to skip the Racing Carnival this year. Originally I did plan on attending, but thank God, hubby had more common sense. “Honey, I’m not sure if it’s the best idea…” he quipped. Indeed, it would have been a silly decision. It’s not easy getting dolled up as a pregnant person, and your feet can be a little unpredictable after being shoved in heels all day. I wouldn’t be able to indulge fully in the delicious catering and what if miniKee decides to come early? :) But as you know, FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) leaves no on alone. This year so many of my friends are attending and I’m not. But thank God, it turns out that I’m working as a vet on all the Racing Days. I didn’t plan this, just kinda happened. I’m so glad that God knows my weakness. And hey, it pays to listen to your husband!

你可以看出，今年我决定不参加赛马节了。我原本计划参加，但感谢神，丈夫有更多的常识。 “亲爱的，这可能不是最好的主意……”他打趣地说。还好他劝我。作为一个怀孕的人，已经很难打扮了，更别说去赛马节的那种时装十分不适合孕妇。而且，我们的脚很可能因为穿高跟鞋站了一天后会肿起来。你如果坐着一天一定也没有什么意思。另外，我不能够完全沉醉在美味的餐饮上，而且万一宝宝决定来得早？但当我听到今年那么多好朋友会出席，我有一点遗憾。但感谢神，每次有赛马活动的时候，我得做兽医工作。这并不是我所计划的，完全感谢神的安排。我很高兴，神知道我的弱点。而且，听丈夫的话真好！ [/spoiler]

Look on the bright side, there’s always next year for the Racing Carnival. Then maybe Mini Kee will be able to enjoy it with you. Oh and “FOMO” I love that. I may have to steal it (^_^)

And I think hubby is wise, as you’re very close to due date you wouldn’t want mini kee stealing all of the
attention by arriving early! Then no-one would be looking at your lovely race wear! :)

You’re working as a vet?? Since I ADORE all living creatures (yes, even snakes and bugs:)) I have a ton of respect for people who decide to help animals… I tip my hat to you, my dear! And those WOOED glasses are pretty cool, no wonder you “stole” them.;)
