We didn’t expect the States to succumb to such a tremendous heat wave. I must admit, I nearly wilted at Disneyland. How do those families last in the midday sun? I was ready for a 4 hour-long siesta by then. And to think I did all the right things, I practised what I preached about packing: researched the climate, considered the activities, and packed accordingly. But of course, the weather is always full of surprises. For someone who’s been cocooned in the Melbourne wintery chill to suddenly be saturated by the LA sun, it has been a little shock to the system.
Pregnancy Week 27 Outfit: hubby’s H & M hat / Vintage Shades, Dress (similar one here) & Earrings / Zara flats
If New York doesn’t cool down a bit, my worst nightmare will come true: most of what I packed would become obsolete. If it weren’t for this little vintage LBD, my Soon Maternity “Miso” dress and Betty Brown tank dress, I’d have nothing to wear. An auntie gave this French strappy number a decade ago, I’ve never worn it before. However it’s proven to be a decent pregnancy frock. And when wardrobe emergencies occur, who you’re gonna call? Local Zara and vintage stores of course! More on this later…
We are flying to NYC soon. Apparently it will be humid and rainy all week… nevertheless we’ll think of ways to amuse ourselves. There are plenty of friends to catch up with, museums to explore, and fashion shows to attend! I hope you are having a beautiful start to the week!
I like your hat so much!

Other than the heat, glad to see you’re enjoying yourself in my corner of the world. (^_^)
aww where are you based? If you’re in NYC we should meet up!
I’m in North Carolina. I can’t make it to NYFW so I’ll be enjoying it from behind my laptop screen. (^_^)
ooh next time! Or when you come to visit Australia :D
Great way to face up all that heat! That’s such a cute dress. Can’t wait to see NYC through your pics!

thank you Cee!! Me too ;D
You are handling the heat wave very stylishly! I think that hat should permanently become yours – you look great in it! :) Such a pretty dress too, glad it is getting some wear.
Hope the weather cools enough for you to use the rest of your luggage, but if my sister’s experience in the US is anything to go buy, I’m sure you won’t be able to resist making a few heatwave suitable purchases! :)
thank you Mica, I hope so too. NYC seems to be a little bit cooler but it’s very humid, so we’ll see how we go :) Hubby’s hat is too big for me so it’s only a ‘prop’ :D ooh any tips from your sister about where to shop?
Hehe maybe you need a “hers” version of that hat as your first purchase then! :) Glad NYC is a little cooler for you at least :)
My sister shopped up a storm in Tiffany, and although this time she avoided Coach she bought lots in forever21 and old navy. She was very excited about Old Navy, she got lots of casual basics from there.
Ah I see, yes I had my Old Navy fix in Switzerland a couple of years back :D I was hoping o avoid shopping, being pregnant and all, but I’ve succumb, in a big way :D
