Last week Mt Hotham came to visit Melbourne. With the ever-falling rain and mercury, the snow capital made itself right at home in the heart of the CBD- at the QV Mt Hotham Lodge. I had the pleasure of visiting the star attraction first-hand last week with Jess (who hosted the night) and Kirby. Walking up Red Cape lane, suddenly I see snow flakes dancing about a cozy wooden lodge, not unlike a winter oasis, inviting nearby visitors with its picturesque interiors, warm fireplace and groovy DJ beats. Upon closer inspection, I realised due to my myopic focus, that the fire place is not real, it’s child-friendly. But thankfully the chocolates were real, and very very smooth. Being an animal lover, I was quite smitten with the taxidermed moose head and the intricate antler chandelier. But even more so, it was the Melissa design-your-own-shoes bench and the endless boxes of San Churro chocolate-covered Spanish donuts that made the lodge incredibly irresistible. Needless to say, I never wanted to leave!
You can always trust celebrity stylist Philip Boon to up the style ante for chic snow bunnies on the slopes. He showed us through QV’s extensive range of retailers including American Rag, Mango, Mossman, Saxony, and more, how to look hot in the chill. I was particularly impressed with the model in 90s outfit courtesy of Mossman, she rocked the zips and studs so elegantly.
For the next few weeks at the QV Mt Hotham Lodge, you will be treated to free lunches, massages, Churros, manicure, fashion workshops and even have the chance to WIN a Mt Hotham escape with your friends! Click [HERE] for all the details. Sitting in the alpine lodge brought back sweet memories of Switzerland, but thankfully the QV Mt Hotham Lodge it’s only a tram ride away.
And someone else to thank is Kate from HHME, who helped me track down my camera which I’d forgotten at the Lodge. Without her, these photos as well as my Valentine’s Day present from hubby may still be buried in the snow…
So glad you got your camera, how sad if you would have lost these photos! And the sentimental gift of course.
Looks like such a fun themed event – and the free massages and chocolate sound so good! I like the shoes you made :) And you did really well matching your skirt to the decor, haha!
lol it was hilarious- there were tartan rugs everywhere, I felt like a Scot :D Yeah God is so good I prayed for the lost camera and it was so miraculous!
You would make a great Scot! Like that time you styled the tartan blanket in like 3 different ways, haha! :) That was quite a few posts of yours ago, but it definitely stuck in my mind :)
God is so good – had been worrying and praying about Cooper’s health and some people from my church prayed too and today we got the all clear from the vet, I just burst into relieved tears, felt so blessed.
thank you Berty! I never thought of it like that :D
Looks like a fun event and lots of delicious chocolate – always a good idea!
