Recently every stylist, blogger, designer and fashionista around me have been telling me about Tracky Dack Day. As someone who has never been seen in public in tracky dacks, I was intrigued.
Tracky Dack Day is the inaugural charity event for TLC for Kids. Just as its name suggests, it is a national charity that provides emergency support to nurture the emotional well-being of kids battling illnesses and injuries in hospitals. Trackies for them represent getting physically and emotionally better, as they swap their PJs for trackies each morning. The actual day for everyone to support by wearing our tracky dacks and donating to this worthy cause is Friday July 1st. I’m actually going to a bestie’s birthday party that night, so I may need to bring a change of clothes. (Note to self)
But on the 9th June (next Thursday) the fashion industry is kicking off with an amazing launch party to increase awareness for this special day. Australian fashion industrty veteran Sarah Gale will present a catwalk show styled by celebrity stylist Phillip Boon with amazing designers including J’Aton, Aurelio Costarella, Carla Zampatti, Alpha60, Ellery, LIFEwithBIRD, Lui Hon, Dhini, Jenny Bannister and Extinct who are making their very own trackies which will be auctioned off on the night. I’m so proud of their time and talent volunteered for this worthy cause.
Here is a sneak peak at designer trackies by Jenny bannister, J’Aton and Aurelio Costarella trackies. Can you guess my favourite?
Autographed trackies from celebrities and sporting heroes including Katy Perry, Dale Thomas, Luke Ball, The Australian Ballet, Australian V8 Supercar racing driver Lee Holdsworth, the Sydney Swans, the Melbourne Rebels, just to name a few, will also be auctioned off on the night. Ambassadors for the event include the adorable Brodie Harper and Georgia Sinclair will be the guest DJ!
What a great opportunity to rub shoulders with the glamorous and famous! What a worthy cause, tickets are $40 and available through the TLC website here. I hope to see you there, now what to wear…
