Hello dear ones! How has your weekend been? I hope you got to chillax and do something special! I worked at the boutique on Saturday, was sad to see one of our favourite Karla Spetic dresses go but glad it went to a good home, and had the best Sunday! Piano-practising in the morning, yumcha with my besties, then hubby took me to see X-Men First Class. January Jones was so smokin! Have you seen it? What did you think?
Remember I told you about a special event hosted by the Whitehouse Institue of Design to support a children’s charity TLC where designer tracky dacks were shown on a fashion parade and then getting auctioned off? Well if you don’t, here’s the post to rejog your memory. The big day finally came for the event. Here are some photos from the night of some of my favourite people in the industry.
Jam Baylon (my stylist aspiration! LURVE her leggings!) and Gavin, one half of one of the hottest Melbourne labels NeoDia. NeoDia, created by Becky and Gavin, recently showed their collection at Amsterdam Fashion Week! What an amazing achievement for the young designers!!! Dear readers, we need to support these young emerging designers more, they carry the creative juices of our fashionable city. Let’s get behind them so they don’t have to go overseas to be appreciated!
Stunning Jade of StyleZilla and Bradley, a WhiteHouse Institute graduate. As cute as a button. Or should I say ‘eye candy’?
Dhini! One of the talented Melbourne designers who designed trackies for TLC. Dhini is well-known for her chic harem-style pants and trench coats. I can’t wait to get my black silk sheer trench dress from her SS11/12 collection. See it here.
From left to right: Alicia, gorgeous blogger of Sea of Ghost and jewellery designer is one of the coolest chicks I know. Designer LuiHon, who is making me the most amazing feathered leggings from his SS11/12 collction! Cannot wait to get my hands on them! And the beautiful Sarahs- editor of Style Melbourne and Sarah Style Emporium.
The amazing Alexandra Blak– I’ve been lucky enough to meet her twice now. Her accessories have been sported by countless celebrities, she has collaborated with designers such as Manning Cartell, NeoDia and Camilla & Marc. We clicked instantly. Alex told me how much she enjoys reading my blog and I could not stop drooling over her clear architectural accessories (belt, bangle and bag featured). Her brass belt (See here on her online store) is high up on my birthday wish-list. Going to send her my waist measurements soon!
The DJ of the night was Georgia Sinclair. Isn’t she a doll?
When I tweeted that I was going to wear trackies to the event, my friends joked that they didn’t believe that I owned any. So I showed them. Totally comfortable in trackies.
So, how do you dress up your trackies?
