What a great name for a label! Recently I discovered a great new Aussie label: The Eleventh Hour. Anne Tu, the creative lady behind her beautiful label spent 3 years designing for Kirrily Johnston, and has also worked in both London and Paris for one of my favourite London labels Preen. Just like Karla Spetic, Sara Phillips, Romance was Born, Dion Lee and many more amazing Australian designers, Anne is also a fashion design graduate from The Sydney Institute of Tafe.
Anne launched her label in 2009 and she best describes her style as ‘relaxed glamour’. Her designs are strong and modern whilst balanced against romance and femininity. Just my type =) The Eleventh Hour’s collections are for the modern day woman who thinks about what she wears, appreciates quality in design and workmanship and is not afraid to be a little self indulgent.
I adore the colour palette and the capes! I’ve chosen a few of my favourite looks from her new collection for your perusal, let me know which ones you love…

I picked Anne’s creative minds about her label and asked about the inspiration behind this collection….
1. How did you come up with the name of your label?
I’m a creature of the night, and in most cases, it’s when I have the time and energy to work on my craft. The concept behind the name relates to my design process and when I feel that I am the most creative and focused.
2. How would you describe the Eleventh Hour girl?
The Eleventh Hour girl is someone who is design and style conscious. She’s modern, sophisticated and takes pride in her appearance. She values quality and craftsmanship and definitely likes to indulge in fashion.
3.What inspired your latest collection?
I draw inspiration from so many different aspects in my everyday life, but I would say that music is one of my main loves and inspirations.
The inspiration behind my current collection was inspired by the song titled Modern Romance by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I love the song’s bitter sweet interpretation of love and romance within the modern world. It was this that inspired me and really brought the collection to life.
4. Where are your garments made?
All my garments are made locally. Quality in make is something that I pride myself on. Being a young label, I find that having my garments made in Australia ensures that a high standard in quality is achieved and maintained.
So now that you know the label, go and support our local Aussie fashion industry! Contact Anne for any sales enquiries. Don’t wait until the eleventh hour!
Very nice, would love to shoot her clothes one day!

I’m so happy to know more Australian people out there! I love Australia and I’m really looking forward to visit it in a year or so!
Moreover, you’re so talented and creative! I wonder how could you not be, living in such a wonderful island!
Your boutique is awesome, too! I really admire you for your ability to be what you want to be!
Anyway, this designer is great, too. I especially love the “no sleeve but there’s a sleeve” black sheer shirt. I just don’t get the importance of sleeves when there can be simply holes to let our hands through ;D
Thanks for passing by at my blog, I will check here as often as I can now!
Thanks Viv! Drop me a note when you’re heading to Melbourne, the most liveable city in the world! :D
Yes I am a BIG fan of capes too!!!
