Remember I went to a vintage designer sale in Singapore? The place was a few doors down from where we stayed and I could not believe my blessings when I realized they only hold this designer treasure trove once a year and we managed to be there just in time!
One of my spoils from there was a vintage Christian Dior skirt suit. It is one of the original models, the classic Dior silhouette. The peachy pink suit is lined in silk and made in Paris. Ah, they don’t make clothes like they used to! Christian Dior was a master at creating shapes and silhouettes that gives his models a curvaceous form.
I modernized it by teaming it up with black leggings and my new Lanvin heels. These sculptured beauties were a splurge from Christine, on Flinders Lane. I bought these the same time I got the Sonia Rykiel pumps. I remember walking into the store and asking the sales assistant to bring me all the Lanvin heels in 38, they were majorly on sale. They are from Fall 2009, a whole year ago but I love them regardless of the season from which they came. I love suede and the heels of these pumps are mad! Wearing 2 of my favourite vintage necklaces. The heart one, according to Christine, is a vintage YSL and the chunky pearls are my perennial favourite.
What’s the favourite vintage piece you own?
What a find, and a perfect fit! So lucky! I don’t think I actually own anything ‘vintage’ especially when it comes to designer stuff although most of my stuff is definitely second hand… I have a YSL necklace that I got for $5, a Pierre Cardin necklace that was about the same price, and a Balenciaga top and a Callaghan top thanks to one of the editors at Japanese Vogue …!
Wow Japanese Vogue! Would be a visual feast to read!
love the pics!
