I have a confession to make: I am an avid Sea of Shoes folllower. The gorgeous teenager, Jane Aldridge, is the proud owner of shoes-to-drool-for. This chick is literally too cool for school. My recent penchant for Maison Martin Margiela shoes was under the direct influence of the Texan beauty. Recently I saw her photo and fell in love (yet again) with her shoes!!! These MMM boots are just divine – super-soft, bunched at the ankle, cone-heels and look like sandals. She is wearing a vintage men’s shirt- so young, so chic.
On my recent tour of Singapore shopping malls, I paid visits to every single ZARA store, much to my hubby’s amusement (and exasperation). It became almost religious, I had to enter every Zara shop. Walking in Zara, admiring all the clothes, I was a little girl in a candy shop. It is because Melbourne is devoid of this awesome chainstore! *sobs* I bought many pieces from Zara and will be sharing them with you in the near future.
There was one thing I wanted to buy but could not…
Tah-dah!
At first when I saw these Maison Martin Margiela-esque shoes, I was almost seizuring with excitement, because they appeared to be descendants of the MMM boots Jane had (which I could not find anywhere in Melbourne)…But my exuberance died when I saw the shoe size: 37, one size too small! I nearly squeezed into them, but I knew it was not meant to be. For the next few days, I dreamt of the shoes. So off we went to visit the store again and hoping the booties were still there. I would have bought them anyway and had them stretched in Melbourne. But they were nowhere to be found. I wept.
Last night, I stumbled across Assad Mounser‘s website and saw her wearing THESE shoes! Lucky girl! She obviously got in early!
Here is the jewellery designer wearing a super-colourful tunic dress and my wish-shoes. I wonder if I could Ebay them…
I like Assad Mounser’s shorter version of the shoes over the knee-highs that Jane Aldridge wears in the photo. I think the shorter ones go soo well with the short dress. The soft colour definitely complements the ourfit and colourful jewellery! Love It!(:
Angie, my sweet, the shorter boots are ‘copies’ of the tall ones. The tall ones are 10 times more expensive but much better craftsmanship. The Maison Martin Margiela boots with the cone heels are one of a kind! and there’s so much leather!!!
I love Assad’s dress too- you know, it would actually look very glamorous and ladylike on its own but the techni-coloured neckpiece certainly makes the outfit more funky and fun.
Her pink frosted lipstick match her pink toga dress so well!
CC is very clever, isn’t she? i think you are wayyy ahead of me, i cant keep up(: Mmm, i see where your coming from and well yes they are obviously much better quality(: butt, its more my style, you know?(:
By the way, I saw very similar short ones in Chadstone today. I think it was in Edward Meller… have a look next time!! (: fingers crossed they’re still there!
Ooh, thanks for the update. I will have to make a compulsory trip to Edward Meller to have a little squiz =D
No, don’t get me wrong. I loved those Zara shoes!!
Wow those boots are amazing! Have you seen any copies here in Melbourne CC? Although I guess it’s sort of the wrong season now. Although, they are opened toe?!? I also love the designer’s necklace!
