The last time I wore this cape was about a year ago, have a squiz at how I styled it [HERE]. Every time I see it, it reminds me of Sherlock Holmes, but sans the cap. When we took these photos, the biggest mystery in my life at the time was when bub #2 would be born. Little did I know, that she was going to be 2 weeks early, just like her older brother. Despite the anticipation, I wasn’t fussed when she would come, as I had already come to terms with having to share my birth month :) and I have this gorgeous promise that God “has made everything beautiful in its time.”
My hospital bag was packed. Hubby, my parents and my parents-in-law were all on standby.
All of this ‘getting-ready’ for the eminent birth of bub #2 reminded me of how unexpected God’s timing can be! Most of us get so caught up with the little things in the present that we fail to eagerly anticipate and prepare for the big things that God has in store for the future. The Bible reminds us not to worry about tomorrow, but to be filled with hope and joy about what the future holds.
I have now entered into “Confinement Month” again where I’ll get to stay home with my mom, hubby, our children and Theodore, and eat a lot of healthy, delicious, ‘heaty’ foods (i.e. foods infused with ginger) for an entire month. That means no outdoor shoots for a month!
I wrote about my last ‘confinement month’ experience in this post. I used to be a sceptic but became a believer when I had the bod to prove it afterwards. I look forward to sharing with you on this post-baby journey and am equally excited about having visitors every day during the confinement month and the prospect of fitting into normal clothes again (hopefully) soon…

That cape is beautiful on you Cecylia! Enjoy your confinement month – I think being able to just focus on baby and the house without trying to figure out trips is a pretty good idea.
No matter what the traditions or support you have, adjusting to life with two little ones is a big undertaking so I hope it goes smoothly for you and you’re getting as much rest as you can with a baby and toddler!
