I took on my own challenge from this post to find yet another non-maternity outfit from my closet. Once again, a vintage number with an elasticized waist came to my rescue.
In order to emphasis my ever-expanding bump (only a few weeks to go, yah!), I bunched the skirt of the dress with a brooch. As you know, brooches are my favourite accessories. They’re so versatile. They highlight, accentuate, and are a statement on their own.
When I was looking through these images on hubby’s camera, I was in awe of the colour combo. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever worn red, white and brown together before… As I pondered why these colours are so striking, a thought came to mind. Perhaps it’s because the brown reminds me of our earthly bodies, made from dust, while the white robe represent garment of righteousness which is made possible by the blood of Jesus Christ, illustrated in red. It’s just a thought, but I’m convinced that’s why I’m so drawn to these colours.
As you know, I believe that “every day is worth dressing up for”, and especially on one’s birthday! Yes I was born on Independende Day. There is no outfit/colour combo that describes my life better than this one- living on earth but with a heavenly perspective, broken but being repaired, ordinary but with an extraordinary purpose.
I’m a third of a century old today. Thank you for joining me on this ‘bumpy’ ride we call life :)Etam Coat // Lisa Ho Scarf // Vintage Dress, Necklace, Brooch & Bag // Habbot Heels
Happy birthday Cecylia! It would be a nice present if baby arrived on your birthday, haha!
Love red on you – that scarf is so nice. And I like the meaning you can gather from the colours too! I got a bracelet with similar colours at church when I was younger – 5 colours but I can’t recall them all, but there was definitely white and red :)
