I came across an interesting concept recently. Birth order. Now before you ask “what’s that got to do with fashion?” Hear me out.
As you may be aware, there is a bit of research done on birth order and how it affects our personality. The debate between nature and nurture is always a heated one. According to this paper, researchers found that:
a) first borns are the most intelligent, responsible, obedient, and stable, and the least emotional and creative,
(b) only children are the most disagreeable,
(c) middle borns are the most envious and the least bold and talkative, and
(d) last borns are the most creative, emotional, extraverted, disobedient, irresponsible and talkative
Does the above description fit your personality?

I’m an only child, so that says a lot about me :) Technically I’m both a first born and a last born: I’m extremely extraverted and very emotional. As I was pondering on this, I couldn’t help but ask the question “Does birth order also affect our fashion sense?” For example, is there such a thing as a ‘style extrovert’?
I’m pretty experimental when it comes to fashion. I embrace colour and am game to try pretty much any trend. My guess is that my extroverted personality affected my fashion sense too? Maybe. How else would you explain my extravagant dress sense, as demonstrated above, and also here, here and here? So if we go by the research, does that mean middle children experiment the least with fashion?
I wonder, are the birth order research findings true for you? Does your birth order and personality have anything to do with your personal style? Leave a comment, I’d love to know!
Love your style,really cool.
I don’t think my fashion is influenced by my birth order – I saw a lot of myself in the wrong one haha! And a lot of my sister in the others! :) Interesting theory though :)
I’ve always liked your sense of style and the outfits you come up with! :)
For an introvert, this could well be the solace and comfort of a quiet office. For an extrovert, this could mean spending time with trusted colleagues or a significant other.
