I was recently contacted by a brand new label called Lantern Sense. Designers Trevor Ng and Lala Yeung were born in Asia but acquired their fashion training and aesthetics from the west, Australia and the UK, respectively. They marry sharp and modern silhouettes with artful and intriguing prints. I coveted almost every piece in the look book. They were kind enough to send me this silk shirt dress. Sans belt, this dress has Resort written all over it, but paired with a belt and pumps, it would be rad for work.
It’s not every day your outfit can match your neighbour’s fence, but that’s the attentive and discerning eye of photographer Karen Woo for you. She can make the most mundane backdrop look composed and compelling.
I believe that fashion sometimes is a metaphor for life, this loosely structured dress certainly reflects what’s going on in mine right now. After an entire year, I’ve only just managed to establish a routine for bub. Apparently people, especially boys, thrive on routine but the life of a blogger often doesn’t lend itself to early nights and regimented meal times. I learnt it the hard way. You simply can’t ‘wing it’ all the time with a small being you cannot reason with…
In my sea of parenting confusion (as demonstrated by the mottled print of this dress) a book called “French Children Don’t Throw Food”, recommended by a dear doctor friend of mine (Check out her amazing food blog here), has become my life line. Turns out that the French are not only the authority on fashion, cuisine and lifestyle, they know a thing or two about parenting too!
And how fitting is it that there are two little hands reaching up?
Happy Hump Day!

That is a pretty printed dress on you Cecylia!
I hope you are energised and find the book helpful! I’ve always been told that just when you start to get used to a routine with baby, they will go and change it on you! haha! I’ve found that to be true so far with baby, but he’s only 6 months so I don’t exactly know a lot! :)
Whatever works for you and Winston is the best way – routine or no routine :)
I used to defy rules and routine. But I am finding it now that with my crazy schedule, a little bit of structure helps my sanity :D
Thanks for the mention lovely!
Love the shots by Karen.
AND you look stunning as always. That’s definitely a dress for lazy buffet days
Pleasure! Karen is so talented. She can make the most mundane subjects look interesting. Indeed, hmmm buffet…
