They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. But we know that what a girl really need in a life is a loyal pet, a loving man and a lot of shoes. But if it’s Chopard diamonds we’re talking about, then we’ll make an exception.
Last month, two of my favourite ladies in the bloggersphere teamed up to create a look book for Chopard’s Happy Diamonds collection. The 4 looks are Cocktail, Work, Casual and Streetstyle. Both photographer/illustrator/blogger extraordinaire Garance Doré and new bride /model/socialite Poppy Delevingne inspire me no end. Oh how I wish I had their talents and looks, maybe even more than the Chopard diamonds? But hey, a girl can dream…
Poppy Delevingne never puts a sartorial foot wrong. She revealed in an interview during the Chopard shoot that she has a very sentimental relationship with jewellery. She may wear only a few pieces but she wears them all the time. They are either gifts from loved ones or souvenirs from travels.
Her tip for wearing jewellery is to contrast the pieces. For example, in the ‘Casual Look’, Poppy layered necklaces of varying lengths across her Topshop Tshirt, and stacked delicate rings on her slender fingers. The look is totally effortless. Poppy also managed to add some playfulness to the serious ‘Day Look’ by pairing the “serious” Happy Sport watch with more fun pieces like the Evil Eye bracelet, the Butterfly earrings and Flower ring.
Her top fashion tip is to experiment. “Don’t be afraid to mix clothes together you think would not match!” The perfect example is the ‘Streetstyle Look’ where she teamed her Converse with a sophisticated feather skirt from No.21. I applaud her for tying the No.21 camel coat around her tiny waist! So unexpected and yet so fashion forward!
What do you think of this photoshoot? Which is your favourite look?
