Last night, hubby and I had the utmost pleasure of attending the exciting launch of Dish’d. Of course, as you can see, one of the highlights from the night was meeting leading chef Jacques Reymond, who has inspired and given his stamp of approval for all of the Dish’d dishes. What is Dish’d? I’m so glad you asked! www.dishd.com.au is an online gourmet food store offering over 200 delicious meals that are sourced from around the globe.
We all want to enjoy good food with our loved ones but with our lives becoming busier, who has the time to cook from scratch every night? Plus, not all of us are Master Chefs! Dish’d takes the time and stress (and chopping!) out of the equation. Ordering the meals online is simple, it’s selecting the dishes that’s hard! All the meals are prepared to chef’s recipes and the dishes are delivered in snap frozen packs the very next day.
Since Dish’d food is already prepared, all we have to do is heat/defrost it per instructions. This cook-and-serve concept is the first of its kind in Australia. We get to be sous chefs, completing the cooking process and match-making ingredients from our own kitchens. So essentially, we help cook the meals. Can you see how Dish’d would be perfect for entertaining? No need to stress about portions, doing groceries or slaving away in the kitchen. And it’s not cheating to tell our family and friends that we cooked the dishes because we “dish’d them out”!
We had the good fortune of sampling most of the dishes from the Dish’d menu. These are some of my favourites from the savoury selection: Vegetable and mushroom cones (the perfect appetise for your next shindig!), Naples style mozzarella and pesto pizza (these were delicious and cooked to perfection, but that may have something to do with the amazing team at Peter Rowland catering…), Lamb backstrap (so tender, I went for thirds!), petite gratins de crab (cheesey deliciousness baked in a crab shell, enough said).
The desserts were to die for. For the sake of research I had: 4 flavours of gelati (Strawberry Swirl was the favourite), a raspberry sorbet slice, a mango passion cheesecake, a huge piece of tiramisu with mascapone (because it was soooo creamy!), a Love Apple and a Lemon Meringue Slice. The waiters were a little shocked to see someone eat so much sugar in one sitting standing. Maybe I should have told them that “portion control” is not in my vocabulary… Out of all the desserts I devoured sampled, the most-delicious-and-exciting-dessert-award goes to the Love Apples. I bet it will wow the socks off your guests too!
The Dish’d brand essence is ‘Discover, Delight, Share’. After discovering Dish’d for the first time last night, and being utterly blown away delighted by the dishes, I summed it up with my own version: Delicious, Designed, Delivered. Now we know who to turn to for our next party!
