It seems that every time my friend Will asks me to work at his Johnston St Vet Clinic, it’s a Friday, and I have an event to rush to afterwards (this is what happened last time). What are the odds that the Meredith Festival and hubby’s work Christmas dinner collide on the same night? At least I’m getting better getting changed in the car! I have to admit, the clinic is a dream to work at. Ingeniously designed, skilfully equipped, the clinic boasts a myriad of amazing facilities, the most important of which are not found in any other clinic I’ve encountered: a shower! No more rocking up to dinner smelling like kitty litter. Always a bonus.
The amount of respect, gratitude, reverence and awe hubby’s colleagues had toward him made me so honoured to be his friend let alone his wife. Talk about a trophy husband! Would you believe that this was actually a masquerade ‘ball’ event? I was so ashamed for not having a mask (I spent my precious lunch hour searching for one along Brunswick St but scouted in vain). Punishment probably awaited me: stern verbal reprimands, menacing grimaces, or even banishment by the fashion police…but no one stepped up to the challenge. Maybe they were too shocked to see a girl in a slinky number with a surgical mask and wondering where I hid the scrubs…
I wore vintage earrings & clutch, a dress my Mother-in-law gave me & Marc Jacobs heels
Oh and if you like seeing us together, in silly mode, pay close attention: I just found out that we will be heading on a road trip this weekend to a few delightful spots across Victoria, thanks to Hyundai Australia. How did they know that I’ve long-awaited a get-away, was just feeling disappointed that we missed out on our annual anniversary-road-trip because I had to work, and that I absolutely love driving? Leather gloves and car shoes are my weakness. And if we play our cards right are able to create mind-blowing photos and videos from this trip, then my wish for the past 6 years will finally come true: we could have our own car! Either way, we are pumped for a Brilliant Road Trip! Here are some of our trip’s Inspiration on Pinterest! See if you can guess where we are visiting :)
