Decided to play with texture tonight- mixing luxurious angora with exotic snakeskin, add in tweed and pleats, and you get a taste of my quirky eclectic style. I must confess, most pieces of this outfit came from opshops. The angora jumper is the softest thing I own and reminds me of bunnies I used to have.
I recently got this ring for my birthday from one of my besties who went to Japan and thought of me when she set eyes on this ring. Thank you so much Raven, you know me too well :D
I scored this pink pleated skirt in the local op shop recently and have been itching to dance in it. My shoes were souvenirs from Switzerland. I’ve had this Carla Zampatti coat for years but have never taken it for an outing, so I popped on a glittery brooch and off we went. I was in a hurry to leave so I just grabbed any bag that caught my attention and lately my subconscious mind has been filled with images of snakeskin prints (everyone from Sara Phillips to Lanvin are using this print), so that would explain why I went for this vintage bag my Mom gave me. I like to add at least one item with prints in an outfit to create interest.
(Outfit: Vintage angora jumper, skirt, snakeskin bag, necklace, brooch, shoes and bag; gifted floral ring, Carla Zampatti coat)
We went to a dear friend’s birthday drinks at the Supper Club. Minki has been God’s gift to me, she is a fashion designer (see the jumpsuit she made here), avid style lover and above all, the most generous and faithful friend. She’s been there for me through the thick and thin. I’m an only child and at times it feels as thought Minki is the sister I never had.
According to Aristotle, ‘What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.‘ Happy birthday Minki, you are a part of my soul.
I absolutely adore your angora sweater – it looks just so soft and cuddly! :)
