It was Jeans for Genes Day a few weeks back. Man, thank God for Twitter, how else does the modern fashionista keep up with news? The day is to create awareness and to raise money for genetic diseases in babies, as 1 in 20 have a genetic disorder. How high are the odds! I feel a little guilty as I didn’t actually participate in the financial side, only in the dressing-up side…
As you can see I get ticks for effort:) Considering the only jeans I’ve worn as of late are my Dr. Denims, I especially squeezed into these Miss Sixty jeans which I’ve owned for more than 5 years but have never ever worn.
I’ve paired the jeans with a vintage studded Chambray shirt, vintage Hermes belt, vintage Swiss watch necklace, and black suede Repetto ‘Garbo’ booties, also seen here.
I bought these jeans when I worked for Miss Sixty, when Lily Donaldson was the model for the Fall 2004 campaign, back then I had no idea who she was! It’s amazing how much you learn over the years..
The Fall 04 collection was one of the strongest collections for Miss Sixty in my opinion. They had made the best jeans that season, I wish I had these biker jeans too…
Ah, the good old days working for a top Italian denim label…. and to think I used to be denim-clad nearly everyday. Now I only wear them for ‘special occasions.’ Dresses have become my new staple.
I don’t look anything anywhere near Lily but I’m finally starting to get cost-per-wear out of these jeans!
I know I haven’t posted pictures of my doggie lately, sorry! He attracts more attention from the ladies than our clothes. Here’s one to delight you…
My favourite canine man: Theodore! Isn’t he the cutest?
So since we’re on a sensitive subject of genes…I thought I’d post some profound questions to get us thinking…
If we’re not born with genetic conditions, should we not give thanks?
If we know someone who is, should we not care more for them?
If our genes are mutating more frequently and creating more diseases, should we not question ‘evolution’?
If you dressed up for Jeans for Genes day as well, should you not tell us what you wore? =)
I love that Hermes breaks up the double denim fight! xxx

You look like a pretty cowgirl!
Love the proportions of both outfits, most women would be terrified to wear both items woven, gld you like to take risks, it’s actually neatly balanced, those jeans are great! Cute pup btw!
