Put your hand up if you too, hibernate a bit in winter. In the past 3 months my schedule has been kids, work, BSF, friends, and repeat. My kids sleep early and hubby works late, so it’s been virtually impossible to blog or attend events. But thank God, when MIMCO beckoned for a breakfast launch, I was able to exit my cocoon and enjoy a healthy dose of refined elegance. Do you remember the gorgeous MIMCO media launch from last year?Fashionistas flocked to Kitty Burns in Abbotsford for the unveiling of the latest spring accessories collection styled by Kate Gaskin and modelled by Montana Cox, a fellow Melbournian and MIMCO devotee. A canopy of florals and greenery made the perfect setting to complement the botanicals-inspired collection.
Kate shared some insider tips for spring racing dressing: “This year there’s a welcome return to colour. There are a lot of pastels around, in really feminine pale blues, pinks and lilac, which is a contrast to last year when there was a lot of black and monochrome. Ladylike silhouettes, puffy sleeves and frills are a big trend for this season.” To sum it up in MIMCO’s style motto this season: ‘Just Add Glamour’ !
It seemed like light years ago when I refused to settle for anything less than glamorous. I never left home in the same outfit, sans makeup or heels. “Every day was worth dressing up for“, I lived and breathed my style philosophy. But priorities, timetables and figures change after kids, go figure. And although ‘just add glamour’ may not be the remedy to every one of life’s ailments, I think it’s going to give me a much-needed new perspective on life. Thanks MIMCO for dragging me out of my comfort zone.
Now future-me, take note: even in the mundane, don’t forget to ‘just add glamour’.
It looks like such a fun event! :)
And I agree, with kids it’s a different world of fashion! In a good way though – you still have the chance to get dressed up in little ways each day, but it really makes you look at your wardrobe with a critical eye as above all you want easy outfits!
Adding a little glamour to the every day is a good way to ensure you feel a little pulled together, even if it’s just an errands and playgroup type day! :)
