As you know, I’ve been beyond blessed to have had my Mom stay with me for over a month since the birth of Olympia. Mom has been our cook, cleaner, gardener and au pair. Oh, and she found me this cozy jumper :)
Not only has she cooked delicious confinement meals for yours truly, she has flexed her culinary muscles in our tiny kitchen to satisfy the taste buds of hubby and Winston. Our front yard has never looked so tidy and our veggie patch so alive. Without her 24-7 assistance, I honestly don’t think I would have survived the past month.
I’m a little ashamed to say this but she has even been camping out on our couch this entire month! Unfortunately we don’t have a spare room so she’s had to make do.
Early mornings and late nights, being away from the comfort of her own home and taking on a completely exhausting routine, she endured it all, for us.
Her selflessness and sacrificial love reminds me of what God did for us. He left the glory of heaven, abandoned His divine ‘rights’, took on the form of a mortal man, to serve mankind. The Creator would lay down His life for His creation. All for the sake of love: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Reality is going to set in once Mom goes back home. I’ll be faced with the tremendous task of looking after a toddler, a newborn and a household. I’m both excited and terrified at the prospect. So, if you don’t hear from me on social media for a while, it’s probably because I’m snowed under by nappies, laundry and recipe books…
Wish. Me. Luck.

Good luck! You can do it, you’ll hit your stride quite quickly :)
Mums really are the best – they do so much for us, I’m glad I get the chance to be a mum :)
