Photos at Rippon Lea Estate By Karen Woo
These photos were taken at Rippon Lea Estate’s Children’s Garden, looks like a kid’s party doesn’t it? For someone who used to have an intense dislike to kids, I am happy to tell you that I’ve been thoroughly transformed. Before I became a mom, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a not-for-profit organisation teaching toddlers Bible stories. Their trust, curiosity, and child-like wonder, mixed with a healthy dose of mischief melted my icy heart. I was humbled by their fondness (one child called me her ‘second mom’, and others competed for my lap) and touched by their attentiveness (they loved pointing to the polka dots on my stockings, and when I was pregnant, they lined up to touch ‘the baby’). Although I was their teacher and they called me “Mrs Kee”, I learnt so much from them. Their eagerness to learn, limitless imagination, passion for play and boundless energy are timely reminders of what we used to have, and can still have if we live life to the full, like a child.
Your outfit and that location are just perfect together! :) Loving the mint jacket with the pastel dress too :)
I think kids are amazing – they can really teach us so much! They are always so in the moment, it’s a good way to sit and slow down when you look at the day from a child’s point of view. They fit so much learning and growing in, but they never seem rushed, they take it as it comes :)
Kids definitely teach us so much- from realizing that we need to teach by example to learning things from them and with them, it sure is a privilege to be a parent! I love what you said about how kids don’t rush- they enjoy the moment, something I should learn!
You are damn beautiful.. seriously.. and recently I read out some of your beautiful posts with gorgeous pictures. Lovely…!! <3
