This creamy concoction of a hat is my favourite piece from The Eternal Headonist. Oozing sixties style, it reminds me of the wool bowler hat from Balenciaga’s AW06 collection, albeit without any equine reference. I love how warm and tall it sits, it’s like wearing heels for your head!

When I was creating this blog post, I was reminded that each of us have different ‘hats’ to wear throughout our lives: occupational hats or familial hats as someone’s parent, child or spouse. Some of us have all of the above! I used to have the mentality that more is more when it comes to hats, the physical and the metaphorical ones. But now I realise that it’s not about quantity, it’s quality. Every hat has its responsibilities and ramifications. In this complex world, it’s not easy just to wear a few hats well. So for those of you who wear your hats high and proud, my hat off to you!

In other news, I just turned one year older. I may be a bit of an absentee on social media this week because I’m vetting every day. Yeb, this is how I celebrate my birthday: by working! And of course, eating cake.
