It was our 5 year wedding anniversary over the weekend. And since you’ve all asked to see our wedding photos for so long I dug these up for your perusal (What do you think of the long hair and the dress I designed?). I can’t believe I haven’t posted these earlier… do you know why? Because it only took me a whole day to find them! I went through 5 computers (we are laptop hoarders), stacks of random CDs and finally, a little black box aka “the external hard-drive” to acquire their whereabouts. 5 years ago no one who set foot in our house didn’t view our wedding album (I’m so sorry if you are one of the privileged few who had to endure our cheesy grins. And super special thanks to Mary my brides-maid and Jin, my brother-in-law for putting up with us on the day). Fast-forward to today, these prints once were lost, but now they’re found.
[spoiler title=”中文版”]上个周末是我和丈夫的五周年结婚纪念日。你们都问我要看我们的婚礼像片，对不起让你们久等了！还记得我的长头发吗？我也不敢相信那么久我都没展览它们。你知道为什么吗？因为我整整花了一天的工夫寻找它们！五个电脑（我们喜欢收藏），无数张碟片，最后，终于在一个黑色的外部硬盘驱动器上找到了它们！五年前，每个来到我们家的客人都得看我们的结婚照片，真对不起你们！：）感谢神，它们“前我失丧，今被寻回”。[/spoiler]
I was never the little girl who planned my wedding in my head. In fact I never thought I’d ever get married! God is hilarious. And it worked, that line filtered the boys who weren’t serious from the one who was. This little girl married her best friend of 10 years 5 years ago, and they’ve never had a fight.
You know how people say that ‘Behind every great man there’s a great woman?’ Well my amazing mother-in-law aside, in hubby’s case, behind Chian there’s just Chian (I’m next to him, as evident in these photos). And behind Cecylia.com the blog, there is also just Chian. My photographer, tech support, PA and editor-at-large, he is the incredible guy who still surprises me every day and inspires me to dream and create what I love. Before we started dating, a decade ago, we were still at uni, he said he wanted to marry me but he was happy to wait. He quoted Genesis 29:20, “Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.’ And it feels like just a few days ago when we said “I do.” Happy anniversary Chian!
[spoiler title=”中文版”]从小我没任何兴趣计划婚礼，也没有打算要结婚。神好幽默。这句话吓跑了许多男孩子，但那唯一没被吓跑的却改变了我。这个小女孩五年前嫁给了她的好朋友。
英文有一句说法“在每个强男人的后面，有一位强的女人。” 的确我丈夫的母亲非常棒，但在我丈夫的后面，只有他 （就像照片里，我站在他旁边：）。在这博客后面，也只有他。他是我的摄影师，电脑协助, 助理， 和编辑。结婚五年了，他每天还惊喜我，激励我去创作我所爱的，追寻我的梦想。我们的第一次约会之前，还在大学的时候，他说他要和我结婚，但他愿意等待。用创世记29：20，他说“雅各就为拉结服事了七年；他因为深爱拉结，就看这七年如同几天。”就这样，几年如同几日，好像才几天前我们对彼此说“我愿意”。结婚周年快乐 Chian! [/spoiler]

These pictures are amazing.. You look so serene, beautiful and gorgeous in long hair.. ur gown is exceptionally stunning! woww :) and now, you look more young, lively and cute.. both hairstyles suit you.. but I’d go with long hair :)

Your kind and sweet words have made my day Akanksha! We had an incredibly blessed day- bathed in sunshine and surrounded by our friends and family. It was just perfect. It’s true, I don’t feel like I’ve aged in the past 5 years…
