How has your week been lovelies? I’ve had an incredible week so far, having indulged in a facial at La Mer, bonded with my besties, dined with my loved ones, worked as a vet, attended a Luxury Travel night, attend the Stonnington Fashion Runway tonight, jet off tomorrow morning to Sydney for a special event, and return over the weekend in time for Fashion Exposed!
Fashion Exposed is an industry trade event created to give Australian designers and labels a chance to meet buyers. I’m thrilled to be a Media Partner for the event and cannot wait for the 3-day expo to begin! And since many of you love shoes, I thought what better way to start my Fashion Exposed coverage with an exclusive interview with Sue Ellen Mackintosh-Dixon, the CEO of Peeptoe Shoes! Sue chats to us about business, trends, customers and shoe advice!

Fashion Exposed是为澳洲服装设计师与品牌设立的，让购买人物来认识，欣赏，并为所派的店采购他们的产品。去年我十分欣赏这个展览会，今年我将是他们的一位媒体合作伙伴。因此让我开始我第一个采访，与澳洲著名鞋牌Peeptoe Shoes的行政总裁Sue Ellen Mackintosh-Dixon, 为你们问她关于生意，潮流，顾客和穿鞋子的技巧！[/spoiler]
1.How do you think a local company like PeepToe manages to stay so popular when there are so many international brands moving into the Australian market?
It is all about knowing your customer, putting her at the centre of all your decisions. Additionally, you must remain true to your brand. We are an Australian designer shoe & accessories brand that offer statement style and unquestionable quality & service. We also have a very loyal celebrity following so this helps as well.
2. What’s new in shoes? What do you predict will be the newest trend in footwear in the next 12 months?
Our Jan/Feb/Mar collection is a trans-seasonal range. It is called Future Tribal, a beautiful blend of medieval with a futuristic feel.
Then Apr/May/Jun which is our Winter Collection has a more richer palette, more opulent fabrics, mixed materials, embossed leathers to give our customer some newness. Looking back in history a very eclectic mix of direction.
From a shoe perspective the super high heel is still a very strong trend: 14cm and above. Conversely loafers and well as shooties (shoe boots) will still be popular. Our Classic shape of course will always be relevant with updates each season using new colours and fabrics.
3. How does the Australian customer differ from the overseas customer?
The customers are similar in their expectations for service and quality. The Australian customer looks for versatility in her shoes – from desk to dinner. The statement shoes seem more popular in the domestic market, having said that there is a customer in Russia who really wants that statement style!
4. Do you have any advice about choosing shoes for outfits? Any ‘shoe rules’?
Your shoes should give you confidence show your personality and make a statement and of course must work well with an outfit or be the statement piece of the outfit!
