As you know I’ve always had an affinity for colour. It is the simplest way to update your wardrobe or your style. Lately I’ve started to dig a bit deeper into colour schemes to see how different saturations, hues, accents and colour temperatures work together on a psychological as well as the visual level.
For example, did you notice that in this first photo, I teamed the black/white/green outfit with Georg Jensen silver jewellery rather than gold because green is a ‘cool’ hue? Hence also why I chose to cuddle an Oscar de la Renta-clad mannequin.
Or that in the 2nd photo, Kyra, in the stunning minty turquoise blouse continued the ‘chill’ palette with an ivory skirt that also echoes the sheer and relaxed fit of her Dion Lee shirt? And mix-master Iolanthe, on the other end of the colour wheel, exudes an infectious warmth with her apricot/camel knit-dress. Her sunny tights compliments the royal blue pumps perfectly. Obviously great minds think alike, because I also chose a caramel-slice-themed outfit for the event, which was held on a freezing night. Psychological value, I told you.
And as upon your request, this is the coloured version of the B&W photos I showed you in this post. What can you decipher from this colour combination?
