Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Stonnington Spring Fashion Parade hosted at the magnificent Malvern Town Hall which showcased the best looks by the finest designers from the City of Stonnington (High St, Toorak Rd, Glenferrie Rd, Hawsburn Village, Chapel St). I was blown away by the production, the styling and the sheer genius in the designs which embraced glamour and feminine charm. Above are the 3 looks of over 100 that took my breath away, the heavenly creamy chiffon creation by John Cavil would be stunning for the races or for attending a wedding. You may recognize Lulu Wagstaffe in the black feather dress in this video I styled. The sophisticated noir cape/dress ensemble reminded me of the ultimate femme fatale. What a fabulous night to celebrate the first day of Spring!
The night would not have become such a success without all the talent and hard work that was emmersed in this fashion extravaganza. I would like to thank especially my lovely friend Sarah, who was the PR lady for the event for the amazing job she did . A few days before the event, it seemed that every person I spoke to was attending the show! When I heard so many people from the fashion industry was going I panicked a little about what I was going to wear. Even my dear friend Sally (a brilliant personal stylist) sought my advice about her outfit for the night. She is such a statuesque beauty, she really wears her clothes. Kate Sylvester pleated skirt is right on trend whilst creating gorgeous curves. Just as I was scratching my head about what to wear, one talented Melbourne designer kindly reminded me that I ought to wear his amazing feather pants which I had pre-ordered. I paired these mad Lui Hon feather leggings with a sleeveless Alexander Wang dress (last seen here). I hardly ever wear an all-black ensemble, but Lui’s legggings are worth it.
The Fashion Editor of the Age, Janice Breen Burns was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the City of Stonnington. She is an advocate for the Australian fashion industry and a lady I greatly admire. Congratulations Jan!
Fashion events are always a delight to attend, but even more so with talented and beautiful friends. Here are some of my wonderful and supportive fashion business chicks! Thank you all for an amazing night ladies! And thank you for your ongoing support, love and friendship. The same goes for my lovely blog readers. I wouldn’t be who I am without you.
What I wore: Alexander Wang dress, vintage accessories, ostrich clutch (to match) with Lui Hon feather leggings, Robert Robert heels
