It’s been a Madam Virtue Week hasn’t it? All of my blog posts have been dedicated to them, because I have finally found some mentors in the fashion industry! For a newbie like me, I’m like a sponge, willing and eager to learn anything and everything fashion. Let me tell you, it’s not easy to get a mentor, particularly in the fashion industry, maybe because it is so fast-paced and fickle…and after a few failed attempts to seek a lady who owns the most decadent accessories boutique in Melbourne, I was turned down, so I moved on. Thank God JC and Dean found me (via Facebook). They are so knowledgeable, experienced and super kind. And now, not only have I got 2 mentors, but also a new favourite boutique to shop!
So guess what I scored from Madam Virtue? The title of this post may have given it away…I was going to call it’ No longer a Chanel Virgin’…but that would have been too obvious.
As mentioned in this previous post, Madam Virtue specialises in high end vintage lust-worthy items. I had a lot of trouble choosing from the most collectable collection of Chanel bags. All of Madam Virtue’s vintage Chanel bags are actually repaired and cared for by Chanel! Talk about being devoted to your art! Or your bag.
After much indecisiveness, I was choosing between this particular vintage Chanel bag and the Mongolian fur jacket seen in this post, hubby made the call – the bag! Yes he’s become quite an expert in the ‘cost-per-wear’ concept, thanks to our friend Tash. I chose this bag because it is not the predictable black that nearly every fashionista has. The chains are removable so I can also wear it as a clutch. A tight clutch.
Madam Virtue’s mascot is Maude, the most well-behaved Sharpei, wearing a LV tag, got along very decently with Theodore, but they were both playing hard to get in the boutique. Typical! I have been dying to debut this vintage skirt I bought in Paris. It’s so long so I had to wear a pair of tall pumps with a chunky wooden heel to avoid damages. I just love the colour of the lace skirt.
Thank you so much for having me JC and Dean! Cannot wait to visit you again soon!
And now…I’m off to Sydney for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week! I have ‘saved’ some interesting outfits for the shows, can’t wait to take them out for a spin. A fully packed schedule awaits me, am really looking forward to catching up with some dear friends. So excited! I am not bringing my laptop this time as I won’t have any time to blog (I have 7 shows to attend every day! Hope I don’t faint, from excitement…) but you will be entertained next week with posts I have prepared earlier for your enjoyment. And don’t you worry, the Rosemount posts will be up when I get back. In the meantime, look me up on Facebook or Twitter for stylish updates.
