A few Sundays ago I had the privilege to be part of the most spectacular photo shoot I’ve ever attended. Who else but the fabulous duo from Madam Virtue, Dean and JC, could host such a glamorous dress-up shoot for the Intercoiffure International at StrugnellCole Hairdressing Salon. This photo-shoot will be picked up by a myriad of international fashion magazines. Super exciting!
I had been dying to meet the Madam Virtue duo for weeks, so when my good friends Finessence Photography told me about the shoot, I had to come and check it out!
I was delighted to see another familiar and beautiful face- Hitomi! Isn’t she just divine? This girl is just drop-dead gorgeous. I had first met Hitomi at the MLY runway party. She is wearing a hand-made couture piece composed of delicate silk chiffon designed by Madam Virtue.
The whole family came along, my hubby and our ‘son’ Theodore, who became an instant hit among the ladies.
And it was here, Theodore developed a penchant for ostrich feather.
Uncle JC dressing Theodore up in one of his feathery neck-pieces. It was funny because although we only just met for the first time in person, it felt like I’d known Dean and JC, this incredible duo for much longer than we’d been conversing on Facebook. JC speaks a dozen languages, is a conference translator for the UN, an amazing couture designer (thank God there are still a few left in Australia!) and along with Dean, are avid collectors of Chanel, Givenchy, Hermes, Le Lourve, LV, Martin Margiela, YSL and much much more. Madam Virtue, located on 5 Crossly Street, Melbourne, is a play house for all glamouristas, stylistas and fashionistas!
Amongst Dean and JC’s collections, there was even an antique crown small enough for Theodore!
Too much beauty for my eyes- I don’t know where to land my eyes, on Izabel’s bow-tie hair, her gorgeous face, the hand-made necklace held together by safety pins or the stunning couture dress JC designed!
COULD. NOT. RESIST.
I love the hourglass figure of this fantastical outfit. Her hair reminds me of the ‘hennin’ the French ladies of nobility wore in the 15th Century. I love the bell shape of this skirt and the tulle underlay! That reminds me…I gotta get a crinoline or tulle skirt to wear under full skirts…
Any chance to pose with vintage mother-of-pearl frames, an antique doll and a vintage Chanel belt bag! Oh my, you have to visit Madam Virtue for the most amazing collectors’ editions of Chanel bags! Vintage Chanel! Ooh la la!
A feather dress designed by Madam Virtue takes flight!
I have developed a lust for Mongolian wool now and I think I’m in love with this burgundy number. Just add some skinnies and stilettos, and you look ready for front-row.
Smokin’!
This dress is insane, if you look above the black taffeta, you will see that the top is made up entirely of tiny gold safety pins!
Only Agatha can pull off this 60s mod cum space-age look with dazzling confidence. She oozes style. This is another dress I drooled just looking at it, it is composed of distressed leather, designed by Madam Virtue. Out of this world!
It was just amazing to witness the production of this incredible photo shoot. I don’t think I’ve seen anything more avant-garde and couture-focused before with my naked eyes. It was a visual feast! Thank you once again to the amazing StrugnellCOLE Hair Salon, Finessence Photography, and of course uncle JC and Dean for letting me tag along!
