You really don’t feel the magnetism of even the most attractive people in the world if you don’t see them in action. That’s why it took me so long to resist Brad Pitt, until I watched Troy. And that’s why even though I agree with every cell in my body that Brigitte Bardot is drop-dead gorgeous, it was only after I watched one of her films that I realise just how ridiculously beautiful she is and why she remains to be a sought-after muse for designers and a source of inspiration for fashionistas even after these decades.
My good friends at ACMI sent me to watch ‘Come Dance With Me’ one night and man was I blown away by the feline charms and incredible dancing skills of the stunning blonde. It is a delicious film with detectives and dancing.
Serge Gainsbourg (left) looked so young in the movie! I was so inspired by the feminine silhouettes of the era, think Prada and Louis Vuitton Fall 2010. The waists and defined and femininity is warmly embraced. Turns out that Brigitte was actually pregnant whilst making this movie, not that you would have ever guessed in a billion years! The movie was to showcase her svelte figure and her expert dancing skills. ‘Come dance with me’ was very entertaining and the crowd I watched the movie with had a brilliant sense of humour.
‘The suede dress from Sara’s High Noon collection, it’s stunning on the model.
I wore my Sara Phillips suede dress belted with a vintage souvenir from Milan, paired with Repetto booties, Mawi jewellery and a vintage Nina Ricci bag.
Doesn’t this picture remind you of a Dolce & Gabbana ad? Perhaps that’s where they got their inspiration from before the duo met Kylie. Well BB has certainly won me over. What a style magnet. And now I can finally see the resemblance between her and Lara Stone.
Ah these photos are terrible of me- I think I’ll need to use the SLR all th way
Brigitte Bardot can do no wrong. I love old movies, especially the inspiration that inevitably follows. Everyone always seems to look so polished and put together back then. Your dress is beautiful and your blog is lovely!
