Ok, remember how I told you that I did a little bit of online shopping recently? See this post for details… (I hope you don’t all off from your chair after reading it)
Well I have worn these amazing Basso & Brooke (how cool is the site?!) leggings twice now. They’ve proved to be my favourite purchase from LuisaviaRoma. The funny thing is that I actually bought another pair from them, same size, different pattern (with pearls!!!), different label. I could barely get them past my calves, let alone my thighs! So sadly I had to return them. The thought of wearing these super little leggings as a scarf did cross my mind… But I already have this gorgeous men-on-horse silk scarf. It’s actually my father’s, tehehe.
Wearing cotton dress with Basso & Brooke leggins, Felder Felder jacket and Repetto booties. I have no style rules. It just have to be comfortable.
The contrast between the old method of transport and what we drive around in nowadays is evident in this photo.
I went to the Spencer & Rutherford summer launch that night. To be honest, I’m not really into their stuff but I was eager to meet the lovely Catherine from http://www.whattowear.com.au/, an excellent online magazine-like blog.
Here are some sales assistants dressed in Alannah-Hill-esque attire. I love the tights on the lady on the right.
Here’s Catherine clutching her own Spencer & Rutherford purse. Her denim necklace is a DIY! Clever lady!
On the far right, is the designer/founder of Spencer & Rutherford, Kim. I love her scarf. I was looking at her mood board for this new collection, one of the editorial pictures of a beautiful model on her board was wearing an Aris Geldis Paris necklace that we stock at our boutique!
The highlight of the night was meeting Catherine and her lovely sister-in-law. I was thankful that I held my tongue when Kim said that she thought our boutique was called ‘Recycled’… I don’t know how she got that idea from ‘Cecylia’, but I guess our eyes sometimes play tricks on us…or perhaps some of us don’t know how to read…Italics. I was already so close to saying something I’d regret but instead I just smiled and invited her come visit our boutique.
I guess I’ve been spoilt by seeing great bag designers such as Anya Hindmarch, Marc Jacobs, Pauric Sweeney, Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang…as well as to-drool-for labels such as Chloe, Lanvin, Proenza Schouler, YSL and Miu Miu. So I really don’t have much to say about Spencer & Rutherford bags except that they are very colourful…
Just like my Basso & Brooke leggings! Oh by the way, you’ve got to check out this amazing post on Basso & Brooke designs and paintings of cubism!
Looks like I’ve found a new favourite label!
Thank you for those kind words!!! It was a pleasure to meet you too and I look forward to getting to know you more soon! :-)
