Fashion sure has its cycles. What is ‘in’ becomes ‘out’ and vice versa. Designers are continually incorporating older trends from the different decades of 20th century to create their own mark in fashion history. I go through phases as well- wearing all black or all colour. Recently I have returned to top-to-toe black. I own countless number of black garments- tops, jackets, vests, dresses, skirts, shorts and accessories- belts, shoes, boots, gloves and even scarves. I honestly find winter a great excuse to give my wardrobe a ‘black work-out’.
I found some pretty girls who are dressed entirely in black. Hope they inspire you as they have inspired me.
This is the gorgeous model-turned-designer Gail Sorronda, photographed by The Sartorialist. She is probably wearing one of her own creations – puffy sleeves, bows and feathers. I like her understated yet extravagant elegance. That is one gorgeous sparkly neckpiece.
This lovely young lady really knows how to layer. I am digging her awesome black jacket- those sleeves are amazing! I am guessing that she is wearing a black leather vest underneath? She is so pretty. Don’t you love her fringy jeans?
I absolutely adore this girl! Why worry about short hems when you have legs like these? Or studded boots like hers? I love her black cape/jacket and short-mini combo, especially the sleeves. Her proportions are perfect: she has balanced her lean lower half with her gorgeous volumnious jacket and an ample Marni bag. The hardware on them give her a cool, funky edge. The wintery trees give her an artistic frame.
