I mentioned in [THIS POST] that I have a new BFF – the good folks at ghd gave me an early Christmas present- the ghd V Copper Styler! Turns out that everyone I know who has a ghd have verified theirs as being ‘life-changing‘. I’m absolutely besotted with mine. Not only is it attractive (a very important criteria in my almost-Marie-Condo’d home), it is easy to use (absolutely paramount for a curling newbie like me) and travels readily in its embossed, quilted, clutch. Perfect for a busy on-the-go mom like me.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually think of my life as pre- and post-ghd. Previously, my hair was always sleek and straight, but blunt and boring. It was always a LOB. I craved curls but I didn’t think that I’d have the time for them being a busy mom-of-two. Some days, I barely even had time to run a comb through my hair!
But when ghd sent me the ghd V Copper Styler, everything changed. I made time to style my hair (turns out all I needed to do to get a bit of me-time is to close the bathroom door!) and have even started to experiment with different hair styles! Shock horror! The ghd styler may be compact but it sure is mighty against my straight locks. The entire curling session takes a grand total of 5 minutes, no wonder my kids haven’t complained yet.
These days, you’ll probably find me sporting one of these curled hairdos- ‘Bounce’, ‘Halfie’, ‘Pin-up‘, or ‘To-the-left’.
The ‘Bounce‘ is easily created by twisting sections of hair around the styler, holding it for a few seconds, and then untangling it gently. I randomly change the direction of the curler to give the strands a more natural, bed-head look. rather than the curls created by the stunning model in this ghd video.
The ‘Halfie‘ is the half-up, half-down look. Take sections of hair from each side of your face, bring them back to the middle and fasten with a tie or a hair clip. This is my go-to look because it’s feminine and more interesting than a pony-tail.
Next, we have the ‘Pin-up‘. It’s basically the ‘Bounce‘ all pinned/clipped up. I’ll be wearing this look do on warmer days or for a special event that requires a healthy dose of sophistication.
Last but not least, ‘To The Left‘, my favorite. Yes I’m quite partial to this one, geddit? Just fasten your waves to one side with a handful of trusty bobby pins. It’s a cinch! This hairstyle makes me feel edgy and adventurous. I’ll sport it any time I can find a bunch of bobby pins lying around!
Thanks to ghd, every day is not only worth dressing up for, it’s also worth having good hair for! Before ghd I only had one hairstyle (*shame face*), the straight LOB, but now with my trusty sidekick, the ghd V Copper Styler, I’ve added 4 more to the repertoire! That’s a 400% increase!
The gift set even comes complete with a limited edition copper-hued nail polish, now I just need to find time for a manicure…
Love that blue lace maxi skirt so much.
Also so impressed with all of the different styles you’ve made with your GD – I’m going to have to try and be more adventurous with mine. :) Thanks for the inspiration!
Hope you are having a great week :) Not long until Christmas!
