Do you remember that scene in Beauty & The Beast when Beast surprises Belle with his library? Bookworm Belle is overcome with awe and bewilderment at sight. He then gifts it to his beloved. She was beside herself.
I was pretty stoked too when I saw the mirrored library at the Brighton residence where these photos (and those of the previous post) were taken.
Aside from a walk-in-wardrobe, I think every home needs a library. Especially since our fast-paced lives are increasingly becoming dominated by digital usage, we need a place, a screen-free zone, where we can read, research and reflect. And in the case of this Brighton-based mansion, the library is mirrored. So not only does it make the room feel spacious, reflection is mandatory.
I chose this navy and black jersey dress by Melbourne label CHORUS because the fluid silhouette is perfect for relaxing in. The composition and weight of the viscose material drapes the body well, making it an elegant, flattering and yet practical choice for someone running a busy household.
As a mom of 2 little ones, I rarely have the time to read (or to sleep) these days. Well, actually, I do read. I read children’s books. Luckily, my son is very fond of books so we read a lot. Come to think of it, maybe I should just read my books to him. Hmm…

What a beautiful little black dress! I’d LOVE a library, and the time to read the books contained within it..haha! I know when the boys get bigger I’ll have more time to dedicate to reading again though :)
Until then I can dream and try plan my days better so I can get some reading in before bed!
Exactly! The time to read the books is even more precious isn’t it at this stage of our lives? I guess one day we will be able to kick up our heels and read from morning til midnight! I’m looking forward to that day!
