It’s not every day that I get to frolic around in a magnificent residence where the Master ensuite is fitted with a Carrara Italian egg bath. A stunning bathroom required an equally striking outfit.
You would have seen me sport some stunning pieces by Melbourne label CHORUS on the blog every now and then.
CHORUS is all about ‘Elevated Work Wear’. ‘Elevated’, because the designs are bold, there is a meticulous attention to detail, a unique approach to cut, and the garments are made from specialist textiles. Designers Louise Pannell and Cassandra Wheat regularly collaborate with talented artists to create striking prints, patterns and embroidery.
Take this ‘Saigon’ embroidered shirt for example. It was designed by a friend of CHORUS, artist Lucie Ketelsen. Sourcing second hand shirts from the bustling local markets of Ho Chi Minh City, Lucie and her team meticulously unpicked each shirt, machine embroidered the design onto front panels and finished them by hand. CHORUS then created the bib-front ‘Saigon’ shirt by mounting these panels onto an Italian twill cotton shirt. A belt was added for good measure. Elevated, indeed.
There is something to be said about being surrounded by so much marble. It is super soothing.
The east-meets-west juxtaposition of this outfit and the bath makes an interesting pairing too, non?
And the overall effect? Elevated? Indeed.
