Yesterday I finally came out of ‘Confinement’! For someone who thrives on being busy and social, it hasn’t been easy to live like a pajama-clad hermit for 30 days.
This month can pretty much be summed up as forced rest + excessive consumption of ginger + non-stop eating + regular breastfeeding/nappy-changing. Daily visitations from friends and family kept me in touch with the outside world. “Really? It’s cold outside?” “What? The Olympics are on?’ And as always, Netflix and baking kept my sanity in check.
How can I complain though, when all the housework including cooking, cleaning and gardening, as well as toddler-minding has been taken care of? Unfortunately though, my mother is not available for hire.
Aside from providing my body the physical nourishment and rest it needed after childbirth, this month of confinement has also taught me the importance of reflection, meditation and rest. For someone who can’t sit still, I am once again reminded to “Be still, and know that I am God“. For only in the stillness and quietness can we find rest for our souls and direction for our future.
And now, after much rest, I better go and do some laundry!

That vintage top is stunning Cecylia, I love it with the red accessories :)
Can’t believe it’s been a month already, how time flies! Hope you enjoy being able to get out and about again – it’s an adjustment for sure with two!
What a stunning embroidered Top!!!! I love your quote – For only in the stillness and quietness can we find rest for our souls and direction for our future. I will save this and re-read it to remind myself of its importance. It’s something I know but always manage to forget so thank you for reminding me :-)
lol it’s something I forget on a daily basis! I may need to print it in a huge font and stick it on our fridge!
